hi everyone* basically... I startedgetting v.mild acne at ten, but didnt go for treatment till i was 14, by then i had oily skin , blackheads and some pustules. My doc gave me bp and oxytetracycline and my face cleared up! Howver, the evil zits came back again. Damn. Sooo, then he gavem me a topical treatment called zineryt wich was PATHETIC and didnt work. Sigh. So i totaly ignord my acne and it startd to get worse... Oily skin, whiteheads, blackheads, zits and hyperpigmentation.... It stil wasnt severe though. Howver at seventeen i went back and was given erithromycin, wich didnt work eitheq. I was seriousely starting to loose hope so i askd to be referred to a derm.the derm gave me bp, differin and tetralsyl and my skin was ok .however when i stoppd taking tetrasyl my acne came bak and i was reaaaly low. So i went back to my derm nd he gave me roaccutane and my skin went amazing@ like seriousely good. So two weeks ago i had a little breakout and i freaked out andwent back t6 c my doc. I was prescrbed dianette, which is a contraceptive pill and isotrex. Basicaly, my skin is stil clear and nowhere near as oily or whiteheady as b4 tane, but i wana keep it that way. So its day 3 of isotrex and my 7kin is less oily and the pimpls are drying Up. So, has anybody got experience of isotrex and dianettte- what effects did it have on you' please commenttt
Hi glad to hear you've found something that keeps your skin under control
I've also tried oxytetracycline and Zineryt, both of which only made my skin really dry, my skin isn't naturally oily so my skin started flaking
Recently I've been using Head and Shoulders shampoo which has helped with my back and chest acne (almost completely gone now)
I've also been taking Vitamin B5 for about two months now (just 500mg) and has helped slightly with reducing breakouts.
I'm 21 now and have had acne since I was 12 so I'm hoping it clear's up soon.
Hey, I was put on Zineryt last June and it took a good two months to clear up but it was a miracle worker! Instead of crying out of horror, I wanted to cry with joy. I hadn't seen my face clear of acne since I was around 12 years old. I had clear skin for 4 months but unfortunately I became immune to the solution and my acne came back worse than ever because I didn't get a follow up of bp afterwards. Now my acne is back with 50% more spots than I had originally, I've spent more time in the last month crying than I have sleeping, eating etc. I was also on dianette but please be careful with it. It's dangerous in terms of how it makes you feel. It cam make you very depressed for no reason and can cause bad long terms effects. I was taken off it by a new doctor when he found out my nurse put me on it so I never had a chance to see if it actually worked. But as I said, be careful and if you feel your mood is changing at all, consider and alternative. I considered accutane but I was told my acne wasn't severe enough and wasn't worth all the side effects. Which I guess is nice to know it's not considered that bad, but it's still there and looks like it is getting worse. But stay positive as they always say. Good luck
isotrex works but it takes about 4 months for you to see the great results.. im not sure why this is but im glad i stuck with it. now my face has cleared! please be warned though that breakouts or acne getting worse is normal while using this product. patience is key! i used to apply about 4-5 creams every morning and night. but now, im just using 1 astringent and 2 creams-- differin in the morning (after the astringent) and isotrex and night! i love my face now!
