hello,

Ive done about 6 sessions of microneedling without any improvement. It seems like my scars are tethered. Im thinking maybe Subcision and then some type of laser? Is it possible for laser to help tethered scars, without Subcision?

I am also in Dallas (DFW), and would appreciate if anyone has any scar expert recommendations.

Looks like your scars in particular might be a candidate for TCA CROSS. When you google before and afters, they look kinda similar to you. I'm not actually sure if small icepick type scars benefit from subcision. I feel like I should know that! I've usually seen bigger, rolling or boxcar scars when it comes to subcision.

I was all but certain that most of my scars are boxcar though? The ones on the side of my face and cheeks look like boxcar scars, no?

Looks like a combo of icepick and boxcar. But you're right that your "icepick" ones don't look super deep. Regardless, CROSS can help with various types of scars, particularly when they are distinct like yours are and not the kind of thing that requires something to smooth out all of the skin. Even CROSS followed by ablative laser might be interesting. I love following along with this type of stuff so if/when you find a good person to get you on a good path, please keep us updated on the journey.

Ive been offered profractional laser as a treatment for these scars. Do you think that would have any effectiveness in treating these?

Yeah, that's ablative laser. Usually it helps. But for some reason, my gut tells me you could use a little pre-treatment with something like CROSS to get things as level with the surface as possible and then a final smoothing out with something like ablative laser. Keep in mind that I am not a doctor and don't do these procedures, but I'm just judging from my research. You want to get under the care of a really good specialist.
