My daughter started getting aggressive acne at 12, as I was prone to acne myself I straight the way took her to the doctor knowing she would need Roaccutane. We went through the process of antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, etc and all the other non effective treatments for aggressive acne. After a year they wanted to put her on more antibiotics for another six months and I kicked off about it, it was just delaying tactics and I ended up going private and she was soon on Roaccutane.
Roaccutane is a miracle type drug and her skin was great six months later, she lasted another 18 months before acne started coming back again and done five months again which sorted her out and she stopped taking this in May this year. Her skin is very good again but she has some boxcar scarring on her temples. I'm surprised she has any scarring at all with her being so young and being on some form of acne medication from 12-16yo. I dread to think what her skin would look like without Roaccutane just looking how aggressive her scarring is.
She is self conscious about the scarring on her temples so I'm looking for a British or European surgeon or whatever treatment to get to attack this scarring the best way we can. I've seen on youtube an American Dr Sam Ellis who appears to know her onions but I'm looking for a British or European equivalent so my daughter is in the best hands. Any advice on the procedure or Doctors and clinics I should go to?
