Im no stranger to treatments. at home 3 years ago I performed 14 dermapen treatments, I even bought 45-50% glycolic acid and did 4 peels at home. 2023 I did 3 sessions of resurfx took a one year break and resumed march 2025 with my last treatment having been a week ago. I had the opportunity to meet with a scar specialist ( he does it out of charity) and he told me my best bet was ablative. the clinic Ive been going to the nurse who I see, shes so lovely and worries about the possible side effects (discolouration etc). I told him I was getting Resurfx and he told me after 8 sessions thats when we begin to see scar remolding. he admitted even with ablative itll take a few years/ sessions as you can only do 2 safely per year. now this was my 8th resurfx session and I have seen improvement in uniformity in general lighting Ill be honest. but Im harsh. and I like to see what it looks like in harsh lighting to see truth. maybe itll take another 8,10,12 sessions of Resurfx or maybe I should do ablative? Resurfx might be slower and more affordable but my sanity is wearing thin. any guidance or opinions would be appreciated

First, I just want to warn anyone reading this to never do peels like that at home. You could really hurt yourself.

Having said that, I have also noticed that many treatments is what seems to help people. It's a slow, gradual process usually.

TBH I can't say for sure what is the better option for you. But, what I would love to do is follow along with whatever you do so we can all learn what does work and what doesn't. Please keep us posted.
