Hi,

Yes I have done many. Please know that without seeing your skin in person I cannot recommend what would be best for you, sorry. What I can tell you is that if a patient has any scarring or wants a smoother texture I use settings from 15 to 30.

See your doctor or plastic surgeon. They will know the level for your face. Also if they are honest as mine was they will tell u what u need first (ice pick excisions for me) and then resurface with Fraxel.

My first doctor had me hold a mirror and point out the scars that really bugged me. I pointed to every ice pick on my face and was told I would need to cut those out first so I did. The doc I guess could have screwed me and just done the Fraxel treatments since they were much more expensive, but he was truthful. He actually lost quite some money though since I did end up going to a different doctor for my Fraxel teatments.

It's a pore (scarred pore?) issue, mainly on my cheeks and nose. It's either Fraxel or no treatment.

If you follow the link below you can see what I mean. My skin is like the third patient all the way at the bottom.

FYI, I emailed the doctor who did this woman; she had 9 MJ.

I'm getting ready for my second Fraxel. I will be doing each treatment 5 weeks apart and am thinking of a TCA cross in some spots after a couple weeks after the fraxel treatment. Is that too agressive a regimen?

Does any of the veterans on this forum have any experience with multiple treatments combined with Fraxel?

Also wondering where in Canada I can purchase 100% TCA solution?

Thanks

Sean

I finished a course of four fraxel, and Im considering another course of four. Like Seanski, Id be interested what people have to say about combining with TCA cross. Would it make more sense to TCA cross for a couple of months before returning to fraxel, or doing the second course to see what is remaining to cross?

I'm wondering what the highest settings have been for Asians with Type II skin tone? I'm an Asian male (Chinese descent), tan easily. My last Fraxel was at 15mJ / 125Mtz, 12 passes. Though I see some improvement in some scars, I'm still not satisfied with the overall improvement.

Are there other Asians out there who have gone higher than 15? I'm hearing great results, but mostly from Caucasians who have had Fraxels at high (over 20) settings. I don't want to be discouraged, but rather want some realistic expectations. Thanks!

Hi TennTenn,

I have Type V skin (dark brown and I tan at the drop of a hat), and I have had 3 fraxels with high settings. Last one was 14 passes at 25-30 (125.) I have hyp0pigmentation that only became apparent after my last fraxel.

I freaked out at first, but then I realized something. the hyp0pigmented skin, which is really just 4 small spots is the same color as the skin on my body (ie. unexposed skin) so I;ve been using a cotton bud to apply depig lotion around that area in hopes that my skin will even out. Shall keep you peeps posted. IMHO, I do think its important for us people of ethnic skin to use the depig lotion prior to fraxel treatments (2 weeks before someone said)

Hope this helps,

M

Im considering having fraxel in Dec or early nxt year (have to wait some time as i had isolagen).

Thing is..im a going to have some fillers done. Is it safe to have Fraxel on top of fillers? Any adverse effects or ie: will the fillers kinda dissolve?

I am also Chinese and had my first fraxel treatment several weeks ago at level 20. Have not seen any signs of hyperpigmentation yet and did not use any special creams before or after. I think you just need to stay out of the sun as much as possible and use sunscreen because your cells are dividing and would be more sensitive to pigment problems. But, just use your own judgement because everyone's skin heals differently.

I have quite a bit of Collagen and was told that it was not an issue so I went ahead and had my first fraxel. I don't think there's any way that it will disolve any quicker but i think the collagen may "migrate" a little because it gets heated up. I haven't noticed any problems in my case.

Good luck!

When can you expect to start seeing improvment in your scars after you start fraxel?

Thay say not until after your 4th treatment and from all the people on this thread who've had it done, that seems about right. It took until after my 5th actually....

I am starting to see results after my third treatment. 🙂

Hi,

Fillers are very expensive and we know that Fraxel breaks them down. Save your money and put them in after your series of treatments and Good Luck!

Im very glad to hear that! What were your settings for your first 3 treatments? I only had one so far and I had it at level 16 with 3 passes. Im starting to think that was too low...

I think he meant collagen injections (filler) 😉

has anyone checked out M-mite's pictures (under her gallery)? She's getting higher settings; good improvement even after only 2 fraxels!

My first fraxel was set at 14 and with 4 passes. Then the doctor did some spot passes at 20 just to let me know what 20 felt like. WOW !!! It really packs a punch but I will try my next one at 20 even if I have to drink a bottle of whisky before hand.

When I said that I had a lot of colagen I did mean colagen injections. I would tend to hold off on the fillers until after the fraxel treatments and then determine where you need it the most but I do understand why someone would want the "quick fix" What a drag, these scars :wall: Hang in there!!!

Results are very very minimal but at the same time they are noticable, as I mentioned before, maybe a little on the lines on my forehead and maybe a little enhancement on my rolling scars but very little after only one treatment.

I was extremely surprised that I didn't flake at all. It felt like my face was getting burned off and then no flaking as a lot of people mentioned. I did moisturize regularly and that would certainly keep some of the peeling/flaking down.

I'm still optomistic tho, i'm just gonna have to grin and bare some higher settings and I am confident to see some results.

I think it's important that people getting this and some of the other aggressive treatments on this forum are aware of the "swelling" and how it can make the results seem more dramatic than they are and then be let down when all the swelling is gone and the "true results" show. I looked great just two days after my treatment but knew from previous Dermabrasions what to expect.

How about you ribz...any noticable improvemant???

They sure are nice results, I'm always skeptical about pix but they do look great. I hope I get similar results

Yes Meriya, your right. I thought I recognized some of the pix. Not sure about number 5 tho I didn't see that one on the fraxel website. Thats why I'm always skeptical. I dont know if those pix are "doctored" I sure hope not.

Cheers,
