Floridaguys skin looks great but I didnt see that much scarring to begin with. You said u had fillers were they in the pic. The biggest improvment I could see was the wrinkle was gone from your chin. The chick in the picture had impressive results, however she had active acne at the before picture which makes your face look way more scarred than it is. I'm still gonna get it done but I think it is more to improve the look of your skin and minimal improvement to acne scarring.
I wanted to see Florida Guy's pics. Does anyone know how to access them?
Btw, links to other message boards etc. are fine. It is just when someone is selling something and spamming the board that we delete them.
You know I had no idea pics were on that site at all until he mentioned it. I'm glad he said something. Oh and thanks for letting me know it was OK to post links. Here I was all worried about screwing up on my first post.
Go to this website: http://laserskinsolutions.com/
At the top of the website page, click on Procedures and choose Fraxel. On the Fraxel page, under the picture of the girl, is the option OPEN. Click and you'll see Floridaguy's pic come up..
I booked a consultation with his doc today...
Oh, I already did that. So the guy was Florida guy? His chin looked much better and I didn't rememeber him having any other scars.
The girl's looked the same to me before and after. It just looked like her redness was gone and maybe she was wearing makeup. Also, the pic was a different angle and lighting.
hi. i'm new to this topic and am very interested in this fraxel laser treatment. For those of you that are getting success from it how bad were your scars? can you take a look at my gallery and tell me if yours were better or worse than what I have. Fraxel is a LOT of money, but I'm willing to pay anything (if it is guaranteed to work) just to have clear skin. Thanks in advance!
what the heck is acne Murad? If your face breaks out tha bad again or if it is still breaking out like that go on accutane. Your face is not that bad and I think would smooth out good with Fraxel. I dont know how much of that is acne and how much is scarring, but it doesnt look very scarred. Take care of the acne first. Good luck.
thanks for the reply keith. Murad is another acne kit (like proactiv) only its main ingredient is SA. It's the worst product ever, in my opinion. I broke out for an entire montha nd then finally got it under contol. I no longer have any active blemishes but the red marks are definately there (as u can see in my last pic). I think i might have some minor scarring (still too early too tell) and my pores are gigantic. I was hoping fraxel might be able to work.. unless theres a cheaper alternative.. suggestions??

I have been using the clearasil acne scar kit which has really improved my scars and skin. Although Salicylic acid is the main ingredient so I dont know about that for you. It made my skin tone look like skin instead of a mix of reds and skintone. I think u could try anything that gets rid of red marks at least to see what your face is like completely healed. I also went on accutane which kinda sheds your skin and helps to even things out.
I had a bad breakout from Retina Micro:evil: which I consider to be the WORST acne product going. Switched 2 that from regular retin a which I had used for 5years along w antibiotics with just mild acne. The RAM Made my skin look shiny and super OILY and caused bad acne nothing like that Murad though that shit sounds really shitty. took about two months to get my skin back but was left with redness and a scar on my cheek.
You are a really pretty girl though and would be even with some scars. try the creams to even out your skin & go from there. Good luck honey I hope everything works out.
Hey ANNIE good luck with Doctor Liziak At laser skin solutions in west palm, Tell her TIM sent you LOL

Where are the pics you all keep talking about? I want to see them!
Go to http://www.laserskinsolutions.com/ Go to procedures, fraxel and under the picture shown on the page, click open. It will show you 2 before & after Fraxel pictures.
I think Fraxel should be permanent since its sorta ablative... found only 1 doc where I live (I'm in Singapore) who offers Fraxel. The doc I saw for the peels returned his Fraxel machine. He said he wasn't getting any good results...recommended I do Thermage instead, at $2,500 a pop, to tighten my skin and make the scars less visible which sounded like expensive BS to me!
I was just wondering...besides Floridaguy...has anyone else who's done Fraxel posted any before/after photos? Lightgirl? Birch? That'd really help me...over the years I've spent thousands on my scars and I'm just feeling a little hesitant to try out something new. Sometimes I think I should try hypnotherapy to forget abt the scars! 😛
Any pictures would be great! Thanks a lot!
From what I've read on these boards, many people have had HUGE problems with Thermage. I'd stay away from it. So far the only Fraxel pics I've seen are Floridaguy's and I was impressed. So much so I'm thinking about a consultation. Oh and another good place to read up on procedures is the acne board at http://yestheyrefake.net/plastic_surgery_message_boards.htm There are some posters there who shared their very detailed Fraxel stories and are very generous with answering questions. Good Luck!
(((EDIT _ eeek I'm not sure if I can post a link to anywhere else here. If I can't I'll be happy to remove them))) :wall:
Thanks for your reply Annie. I'll check out the link. 🙂 I'm thinking of doing Fraxel next week. If I do, I'll take before/after pics so I can really track the progress.
It's gonna cost me $715 if I just do one or $2,850 if I sign up for 5 Fraxels which would work out to to just $570. But it's still a lotta money and I'm just not sure I'd wanna commit to 5 sessions up front. I haven't had much luck with Phenol / TCA peels, microdermabrasion or Smoothbeam. I figure I'll just do 1 Fraxel and wait 1 month to see if there's any improvement at all. Fraxel does seem to be the next great hope for people like us and I've tried everything else. I won't try Thermage which I think is BS for my type of scarring.
I'll let you all know how it goes if I get it done. 🙂

Hey, that's a great price for Fraxel..
I can't remember if you don't see real results until the 3rd or 4th treatment. Let us know how it goes!!!

I agree with everyone that Fraxel is expensive ($1,000 per treatment for me in Seattle) but I can tell you it really is well worth it. I have done everything for acne scars and melasma and this is the only thing that has worked. The improvment in your skin's texture, melasma, fine lines and overall eveness is tremendous. I have dermaplaned, microdermed, peeled, lasered, thermaged, used fillers and nothing has been as great as Fraxel. I would say that my shallow scars are not completely gone but after 3 treatments they are partially filled in and just softer in appearance. My melasma was almost gone after 1 treatment and that is a miracle considering Melasma is pretty much irreversable. Remember, this is FDA approved for Melasma, not created to get rid of scars. The fact that is stimulates collagen is what helps the scars. SO in answer to the questions about whether it causes fat loss, no, it is the opposite, it stimulates collagen production and gets better over the next few months so I haven't even seen the most improvement yet.
Hi Heidiluv
Do you have any before/after pictures you could share? If Fraxel works by stimulating collagen, then it's probably not permanent is it? As we get older and collagen production slows, we'd probably need more Fraxel. It'd be like Thermage or Cooltouch.
I asked the doc I saw abt whether it was permanent and she said yes..but she didn't sound all that sure. Maybe because it's such new technology even the doctors don't really know. I don't see anything on the Fraxel website that talks abt touch-ups being needed every coupla years, unlike Thermage.
Well i'm gonna get mine on the cheeks, and problem is im an asian, my derm recommended 10-14 at highest first.. as there are side effects of pigmentation and strong sun tanning, so will take have any affect on the effectiveness if i was to do it at 10-14? considering how most of yall went to 15 and up.
hey pinky. i am also from singapore and have been contemplating on getting the fraxel laser treatment done.i was wondering which doctor you are consulting with on this procedure.

by the way, Headsup, have u tried Fraxel ?
Hey Wish, I am thinking of having it done. Just a few more things to check out before I make the plunge. I am probably going w/ dr. Rokhsar in NYC. I am planning on 5 procedures at $1200 each session( a little pricey) but He seems to have the most experience w/ Fraxel and how to treat acne scars. I am going to do my best to document my treatments to see how much improvement I get.
im doing good ..... havent had anything done yet .... gotta get my wisdom teeth pulled right now lol ..... im such a baby when it comes to the dentist .. i almost passed out getting an x ray haha .. but i have been a bit happier here lately ... went camping with my gf this weekend to get my mind off things .... but anyways i think after the ol wisdom teeth get yanked im gonna see about getting tca cross instead of fraxel and see how that goes ... thanks for replying =) and oh yeah hope you get great results from the 5th treatment and u heal up well =) let me know how it goes

Rock on! Take before & after pics and keep updating. If your skin didnt blister then it wasnt too high I dont think.
So how many of you have doctors that are willing to go level 15 to 20?? I had my consultation with my doc last week and he is very apprehensive about going over level 12... I gave him the names/numbers of some of the docs mentioned in this post so he could talk to them... He wants me to come back in and talk about the levels before we schedule the first treatment. I'm not going to be very happy if he wants to do the first treatment at level 12 or 13 and then work up to higher levels later... This costs WAY too much to let him "experiment" on the level settings for the first few treatments when I'm paying $850 per treatment....
Sean...
Lightgirl,
Do you notice any difference in texture between your spot treated areas and normal skin? By the way how old are you and how would you describe your skin type?
Thanks,
Colin
Hi Colin,
That is a really good question. You don't actually see a line around the treated skin that looks different than the normal skin like some pople might see after CO2. The treated skin feels softer than the rest of the skin--the tone of the treated skin looks healthier, but does not stand out from the normal skin--It is just less discolored from the scarring. The skin tone of the treated area almost blends in better with the normal skin than it did before. Does that help at all?
I am going to wait another week, which will be 3 weeks after my treatment to report any new changes.
SirGreg,
Funny how we can handle all this pain when it comes to treating our scars, but the dentist NO WAY! LOL. I am excited for you to start whatever treatment you decide to do after the teeth are all taken care of:-) I will fill you in on this treatment in a week, but thanks for the good wishes and support--I can always use it!!
