I am not sure what energy levels I was treated with and the tingling does seem to be subsiding, but I would still love to hear from anyone who experienced this sensation and still went on to have more fraxel treatments. I do believe I have had some improvement in my scar appearance even after one treatment. I would like to continue with my other three.
Scarzsuc, now that you have done 4 treatments, what is your level of success and what type of scars did you start with? thanks.
Ya know who knows what i have as far as scars...So many doc's have told me different...I have the kind
that when you stretch your skin they all go away...Like indentions...rolling i guess..The kind that suc!!
Thats all i know : 🙁 not much improvment so far...I was all over the place as far as energy levels though.
12....15...17 were the levels for my first 3 and up and down to 10...8....Well this last one she did at 20mj
125 den like 8-9 passes...So im hopefull that this will produce some good results...I know Florida guy did'nt see anything till after his 3 0r 4 and i hope that's what will happen for me...I love the swelling and its hard when it goes away and it all comes back...You really get that fantasy feeling of what it would be like to not have scars just for a few days...Also makes it harder however..Im just hopeful my Doc knows what she is doing and this gives me some kind of difference...I will keep ya posted!! Thanks to everybody who writes on this site and tells what they are going through...Truley makes a difference to me...Iv learned alot and also cried over stories that are so so similar to my own...Someday my friends...there will be something
remember that what matters most is the total energy output -- not exactly going to 20mJ -- you may want to go lower and increase the density and number of passes for acne scars unless yours are very deep 15mJ should be sufficient.

I am very curious... Has anyone who has had fraxel laser done on their face felt a tingling (pins and needles) feeling when they touch their face (up to 2-3 weeks post procedure)? Is this of concern? I wonder if the nerves are being effected in someway and whether it is ok to do another treatment while feeling this prickling sensation. Any thoughts form anyone who has had such a experience and still went for another fraxel treatment? Thanks.Yes I have that feeling and it's been 3 weeks now but its starting to go away. I feel it when I wash my face.
Troubleface, how many treatments have you had? Does the tingling come each time and then go away each time? Thanks.

Hey guys
those who have actually done the fraxel...did u guys notice any difference in the appearence of your scarred pores?
I read somewhere that fraxel could actually enlarge pores.
Any comment would be mmuch appreciated.
I've seen no difference in my scarred pores--I haven't noticed any new enlarged pores either.

hey hadenough
this is were I got the idea from:

Dear George,
Microdermabrasion is very effective for controlling blackheads. The microdermabrasion treatment removes skin debris and dead skin cells that can block the pore and cause blackheads. After a microdermabrasion oil, which has backed up in the pores, is released and over time as the unblocked oil glands become smaller pore size will decrease.
I would also suggest a drying facial wash such as a Brevoxyl wash. These can be found in the acne section of your drug store.
The above treatments should help a great deal. If you are left with large pores and redness there are other methods that can help. Some laser treatments can stimulate the skin to form new collagen around the oil glands, which can compress the pore and make it smaller. It also specifically helps the redness. One, called LasergenisisA is easy and pain free. The LasergenesisA machine is made by CuteraA, you can check their website to find a doctor near you who has the machine.
I would not expect FraxilA to be particularly effective for enlarged pores and redness because FraxelA is an ablative laser. Ablative lasers because they remove skin can actually enlarge pores and do not address redness.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Dr Seckel

" Fraxel is an Ablative Laser" I think that says it all about how much this guy knows about the Fraxel laser..it's actually quite funny.. Try doing more research on the subject..JMO
Also, I have to wonder about the "drying facial" the doctor recommends in the email. I've read a lot of comments on this board about overdrying contributing to scarring.
Hi all...
Had my 4th fraxel done at 20mj125/den and 8-9 passes. When i told her about 1250 density she said
there are only 125 and 250 so is 250 full den? And how do you get 1250? I had 8 passes at 125 so
is that considered 1000den?Or would it be more benificial at 250 w/less passes 4-6 maybe?Rappaport
and Rohksar seem to be going that way so im sure thats the way to go. I just want to express this to her
without sounding like im nuts..So would i have to have 10 passes at 125 to =1250den?There is just
soooo much info on here i just want to do this right because sometimes i feel like im the one telling
the doc what to do......Thanx a bunch!!

Wow that's amazing to see results that quickly, usually it takes more than two months but I'm gladd to hear it's working for you. Have a nice month off =)
I had my first fraxel recently. I tried alot of things before like example CO2 smooth touch etc. Well I'll say this is the best I ever done. I notice an immediate reduced in scar size among my small scars. Although at first I thought it was the swelling which tighten the skin. But 3 days later after the scaling, I keep track of the scars and realised it is indeed so much better. Well fraxel really did have noticeable improvement. From what I see having about 70-80% improvement after 5 treatments should not be a illusion. I'm signing up for more.

I don't want to be negative or anything--but at 3 days, there is still a good bit of swelling. I know there has been for me. A 70% improvement after one fraxel is too much to hope for. Fraxel is working for a lot of people, though, so I hope you don't get discouraged and give up on it if/when it turns out the improvement you have seen was just temporary.
I am on accutane adn will be having fraxel treatments done afterward. I dont really know but would think fraxel would be similar to everything else and should be avoided for a few months after accutane. U know when to get things done to your face by the look of your lips after accutane when they are not severely chapped anymore then your face has its moisture back and will heal correctly.
Lots of videos about fraxel here
is fraxel really temporary?
define temporary? -- collagen will not last forever -- eventually everyone will get old and wrinkley. fraxel has been proven to significantly improve acne scars if performed properly. the collagen won't wash away in a year or two if thats what you mean..
Can you be on accutane and go for a fraxel?
Most doctors will not treat you while on accutane, but Dr. Fitzpatrick believes that it is safe -- he has treated some patients with co2 who were on accutane -- apprently the evidence on accutane's effects on healing is weak at best.
I am going for my first treament tomorrow afternoon for mild scarring from years of ingrown hairs. I intend on posting pictures post op so people can see for themselves. Barring some adverse reaction, I am going to go for 4-5 treatments.
I will start it off with pre-op pictures and will post some more tomorrow night. I am sure there are ton of people like myself who wanted to see some post op photos and progress photos, but have had as little luck as I have had on finding them on this thread as well as the web.
We'll see how it goes....

i had my 5th fraxel on monday ...(level 18-20-21) and so far i would say i had 65% improvement on my rolling scars .. 20% on my ice pick and 20% on pores .. 11days after having done my 4th fraxel it was like 55% improvement on my rolling scars..
i dont want to be all excited about it fact that i have recieved 65% improvements s.. coz the final result will show about 1year after the treatment .... and thats with everyother scar treatments
i dont know if fraxel is temporary or permenent ... this teatment is still new and i m sure even the doc who treats fraxel can't give you the assurance ..
i found fraxel worked on my rolling scars which i have done subcsion and ultrapulse laser before.. compare to the scars which i didnt do any treatments from past ..
i think its important to drink lots of water ... put lots of mostrizer coz the skin get really dry after fraxel ..
and dry means slow healing ...... <-- i think :lol2:
also its important to sleep well .. eat well .. put sunscreams when u go out etc ...
i m thinking about doing 8 treatments in total ... i ll write here again ..
peace

U rock I love when people post before and after pictures. So far only one member i know of has actually continued to post pictures and comments after treaments. Your scars are really shallow but plentiful. I am sure u will have great success with the fraxel treatments and will be posting smooth skin pix in a few months. Best of luck
