Hi guys
Have read tons of threads here today.
Not new to acne scar treatments. Skin type 3/4, not sever acne but mostly rolling acne and overall textural issues. Have done fraxel laser x 10 times, it didn't eliminate all acne but in normal lights my skin looked amazing! That is why I kept going every 8 weeks.
Then did infinir x 3 times , improved overall texture
Then did morpheus8 x3 times and it also improved skin tone and texture.
I still see acne and skin irregularities in harsh lighting but it is not sever.
Haven't done anything for like 2 years and wanted to refresh my skin tone and texture a bit.
I worked with Emer before two years ago for another skin condition (had a surgical scar that he lasered and helped improve). He was super nice and Office was helpful with follow up so I can't say I have bad experience with him. He is definitely not cheap as you all commented here.
He has being putting a lot of amazing acne treatment before and after in the last months on sensifive dark skin patients (similar to Lam's pictures) with combination approach where he pretreat with cosmelan peel 14 days prior then he combined RF microneedlong with halo over whole face + erbium or CO2 over scar area. See his IG..amazing results..
That was his plan for me. I read threads here carefully and you all warned about him.
---> Did anyone have a first hand experience with him with the above protocol?
He emphasized that skin care post make a huge difference. He is pricey for sure and I am fine with laser as most of my issues are superficial textural issues.
---> Alternative to consider are:
Rahimi: also claimed to be expert in ethnic skin and has many good pictures as well. Most of you are lukewarm on him?
Rullan: lots of support here. But no way on he'll I am doing a phenol peel . I can do subcison and Emer said he will add it to the second phase.
Any other pointers?
Thanks

He gave few plans. The one I plan to do if I go with will def be close to 7-10k I think, Haven't added them all up yet.
My worry is about safety. So hence the question. I read some posts here saying ppl had issues post so that is my worry.
Any intelligence?
For 1 session?
They like adding up more treatments in a single session to justify the high price. The only proven combo is beneath and top procedure. Why incorporate multiple top procedures. Unless one is cross and one is laser.
Go to dr rullan. You will be spending much less for a session. Or just get laser emer once done with cross and erbium session.
If he guaranteeing that you wont need touchups of anything then it is fair because he is 7k and u are done which is not true at all

Yes one session. Every item adds like 1-2k. RF + lasers is what I plan first and this include all face and neck for anti aging as well, I am not young and in the older group. 35+ so anti aging is something I am interested in as well.
Many Dr. Does this duo, RF for deep benediction and Laser for surface issues. EMER Just uses Two lasers at different depths, halo over whole face and then erbium or CO2 over the troubled acne areas. I guess if you wanna safe youn an skip halo as it is for anti aging.
Has anyone got bad side effects? That is my question. I read people criticizing the multiple procedure but as I read elsewhere many Dr combine RF/subcusion and laser in the same session. So is tye worry that Emer goes super aggresive?

Yeah I heard that and it something you need to accept. Some fat remodeling has to happen. I did RF a lot before, infini and Morpheus 8 and tye depth can be customized. For example i wanna lose some fat in jowl are or under chin so deep is fine there.
Also I have thick skin..at the end provider experience is important and I see Emer doing these procedures everyday many times so I know he is competent.
My worry is, did anyone has troubles or know of someone who did? I only found one negative review in realself who said he got burned but no pics..I contacted him/her but haven't heard since.
I take negative reviews seriously and I am.open minded. I am here to gather all evidences and then make an informed decision

What kind of acne scars did you have when you first started these treatments ? Also what did you like more infini or morpheus 8 ? Ive done RF in the past and I wanna do it again . Ive been looking at morphes8 but seen a lot of bad reviews online . Did you have any issues at all with Morpheus 8 ? Since u did 3 Im assuming you had no issues Im very curious .

you need to go to an expert. these things are dangerous in the wrong hand. can leave stab marks from the needle, etc. It is customizable so you need someone who knows these well. I did Infini and Morphus with two notable plastic surgeons. I have no issues with RN doing them but I prefer PS and I would pay more for peace of mind, I also saw bad stories online.
Both are good and similar. Morpheus is just more verstaile in terms of needle depth so PS and Derms like it more. Also it has other wands that go go under the kind (FaceTite, did it as well for skin laxity not scars). But I noticed that my complexion was more brighter after Infini.
Again both are capable devices so what matters is the person doing the treatment and what setting they use for YOU. So choose based on expertise no the name of the toy!

my scars are mostly rolling shallow scars that created texture irregularities.. no one proposed TCA for me. Just laser, subsection/filler and laser+RF. This is why i liked Fraxel + Laser.. it stimulated collagen and improved overall texture. You will never get rid of the scar. When I was younger in my 20s I still have them but they were less noticeable cause the skin was moist and taught/tight.. as we age we lose collagen and the scar becomes worse!

I agree it has to be in the right hands because if not a whole lot of bad can happen . I had intracel before which is a older RF technology and received pretty good results although it was done by a estatician and she went really aggressive .
Your lucky you found plastic surgeons that offer this treatment down here in Canada its rare plastic surgeons do RF micro needling its mainly done in spas. Have u done RF on un scarred skin as well ? Or was it used over scars only

Not surprised about the premium . When it comes to plastic surgeons always cost more . How long did the needle marks take to go away on your non scarred skin ? I wanna do it on un scarred skin but scared to end up with needle marks or more scars on the un scarred skin

Do it Friday go to work Monday. I added prp so that speed up things. Doctor said 3-5 days. Setting made a huge difference, the more aggressive the more down time. Eventually grid marks go away if it happes, I read davin lam answer on realself and he said that. Always communicate your downtime constraints with the provider to make sure you two are on the same page

I saw Dr. Emer in 2022 during his scheduled visits to NYC. Him and his team are really kind and out of all the treatments Ive done I saw the most with him however he is SO expensive. I drained my savings (10k) and I was hoping for more of an improvement for the price. Also once youre a patient there youre basically a patient for life because the coordinators will constantly follow up about maintenance treatments and skincare. I was going to go back to him but he increased his prices 1.5k and he always wants to film me for IG.. Im considering alternatives in the NYC area but Im not really sure where to look
