Dr. Hazany is very, very expensive from what I've read. Dr. Rullan has much more experience and charges reasonable prices, although he did increase them substantially in the last several years.
My results with Dr. Rullan weren't noticeable for the first two years. I did 5 sessions of Phenol Cross, a few Pixel laser treatments, and one subcision (my scars aren't meant for that treatment). Saw no improvement.
After my fifth treatment which included Phenol Cross and laser, I decided not to go back due to the cost of treatment and travel. I just decided to look into other treatments locally and try Tazorac. It's been a little more than half a year after my last visit with Dr. Rullan and I've noticed that the scar that sticks out the most looks better. To me, this makes all the difference in the world.
How much do I attribute this to Dr. Rullan and how much did Tazorac (I used it only 10 times) play a part? I don't know. But my worse scar looks better to the point where I'm done with treatments.
I still recommend Dr. Rullan but am not going to praise him as a miracle worker because people need to realize that scars are hard to treat. He's a very good doctor, has deep knowledge of how scars improve, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. But there may be other options. Look online for local, competent doctors. Do your own research as to what scars you have and what treatments are available.
For people who are expecting miracles with any doctor, please have reasonable expectations. It's going to take multiple visits, savings, and patience.

Dr rullan treatments take along time to see results and I think it mostly depends on the age of scar as well. New scars remodel quickly compared to old ones. Yes dont expect a miracle. Most of his methods are safe but very slow. For instance his cross method takes a long time on deeper icepick, whereas punch excision can cut down that time. Ofcourse need to consider risks. I strongly disagree with cannula subcsion as it has a blunt edge and will take a long time to sever all tethers. If youve widespread rolling scarring Taylor liberator is much better.again risks. For boxcar hard edges co2 full ablation or full face fully ablative resurfacing. If you have shallow scarring then dr rullan is best, if you have deep scars then it will take time with dr rullan.
