Excision is a viable option to improve deeper or more stubborn scars so I wouldn't be nervous really just know that it changes the scar you'll still have a depression and a line where it heals but it should look more normal/better if done properly.
For stubborn/deep scars, excision is always an fair option imo.

I did one on my cheek and it got bigger. A dermatologist did it. Id go to a plastic surgeon.
Thank you for the response. A dermatologist is doing mine as well ive heard mixed things on going to derm vs plastic surgeon. This one seems to specialize in acne scars though and does alot more acne scar treatments then many other derms in the area.

In other cases, depending on how severe the jowls may be, a mini face lift may help address this issue if you are a good candidate.
I know microcoring is out and is intended to address this issue but im not sure if its as effective as an actual facelift.
Anyway as as far as I know about laxity and jowling.
