Has anybody looked into micro-coring for acne scars? It's similar to punch excisions but its done with stainless steel needles and leaves no scar behind. My doctor has this device. It's designedfor wrinkles but I'm going to call my doctors office and ask about micro-coring on acne scars. It would be nice to perform a test spot and see how it heals within 2-3 months.

This could be good for previous punched scars or excised scars on the cheeks. It can take about 5%-8% of skin off your face. That's probably little to make a significant change but it could be great when coupled with a previous procedure. Idk, I'm just hypothesizing.

Not yet. I have a surgical procedure this week and it's not my priority at the moment but I will eventually seek out the information and see if it's applicable to acne scarring.

Hey, any news on micro-coring? I've seen Dr. Davin Lim doing something similar for acne scars. Also I recently saw another acne scar Dr doing this in Instagram. The concept looks pretty solid. Given punch excision is a very effective method for removing scars, micro-coring can at least do something similar, just in smaller circles. It looks pretty promising, as it removes (scar) tissues and it can go pretty deep (removes the entire scar tissue). I'd suspect this could do a good job if just hit on the (small) scars. Finally, another very promising plus is (although I don't care much) it has very short downtime.

@froyosh What acne doctors did you see doing this on instagram? I'm really curious if it is possible to micro core an enlarged pore on the nose, but I haven't seen any examples of this yet.

dr. waibel does it or had intimate experience with microcoring. The only thing is that she's not very fun to wait for.... the wait can be 3 hours+ and its due to incompetent business practices. Unless it's changed since I've last gone. I'd say call the office and ask but goodluck getting them to answer. Sorry, she just pisses me off.
