Like many of you I was very tempted to try out RF microneedling. And amongst different machines Genius seems best designed for this purpose. Well, I just had a consultation of one of the leading providers of Genius (at least thats my impression from the number of lutronics machines he owns and videos hes made about genius).

Surprisingly he said genius isfor skin tightening and that Iwouldnt need that kind of treatment. He went on to suggesta much cheaper (price in the 3-digit instead of genius4)non-ablative laser. I think for one he just doesnt think my scars are worth treating (since he spent most time looking at my milia and didnt mention my scars until I brought it up). But I think more importantly his commentdoes seem to corroboratesome speculations going around here that RF micro may not do much for acne scars.

Maybe it will work if you have new scars like less than a year old. But less think it logically it is just poking needles means cutting and yes there is thermal energy that is why I say said may work for new scars.

My guess is that doctors use skin tightening devices for other issues because technically they do work. It's kinda like if you buy baking soda for cooking but then people realized that you could also use it for cleaning.

I'm sure RF microneedling can help scars but it might not be a "heavy hitter" like lasers or Cross. For those with light scars, it could make a satisfactory difference. For people who have severe scars, I think money would be better spent on more aggressive treatments.

wherever you go, dont go to weiner. I had Genius RF done by them and got a fairly severe bacterial infection on my face immediately 2-3 days later, at least 5-10 huge cysts appeared which gave me additioinal scars. Either Genius RF is the most garbage treatment ever or those people had no idea of what they were doing.
