It doesnt profit the doctors. First of all cosmetic procedure specifically acne scars treating is a hit or miss. They know that that is why atleast they get the money irrespective of results. Some estheticians do but derms dont. Yup thats the society we live in. They have to keep their business running as well. So the point is you have to do your homework. And if they say you need some Shiity procedure like microneedling for having icepick scars you can call their bluff. You make sure first whats you majority scars are. And based on the knowledge gained here you see how close their answers are. The more closer to what you know the higher the chance of you being satisfied with the procedure. It is an educated bet. It is take it or leave it scenario.
They do multi treatments on the same day to increase revenue but wont do test. I wish they would do one type of each treatment like a patch test to see what is improving. Once you know what is working you can then invest on the procedure. This is some thing I wished the derma offer. Some people respond well to tca some to laser some to excision . Its just depends on the person.
