Is rf microneedling really better in treating all type of acne scars. I mostly see negative opinions or not desired outcome from this. I believe settings used matters as depth, energy and heat time can make big difference in output. Not sure if people who had this treatment were not treated with the right settings or they didnt do enough treatments.

I am trying to find something that can lift tiny ice picks, enlarged pores and medium to shallow boxcar scars?

I doubt RFM will help ice pick scars. TCA/Phenol Cross is the treatment for those. Maybe RFM will work for your boxcar scars but not all boxcar scars are the same.

I had it done several times and didn't notice improvement. If I did, I couldn't tell, but maybe I needed 7 more treatments. For me, it wasn't worth the money, time, recovery, etc. to continue with that. However, if you read things online, you'll see that it's helped other people. It's just like every treatment out there. You will get mixed results.

There's almost one guarantee though: the doctor selling you that treatment will probably tell you that it works.

Lol I agree with you on this each doctor sells his own method. Hence it is important to go a doctor that have a good collection of tools.

Yeah, I too noticed a slight improvement and I'm pretty sure at least 50 more treatments would be needed to see the full impact. Thankfully, I ran out of money.

When I brought up the possibility of getting rf microneedling once when I was getting a trio done from rullan, he told me they don't do much. Of course that could just be him saying nonsense especially since he doesn't offer rf microneedling but who knows.

Hmm interesting, I wish there was a independent board of doctors that came to a common conclusion as to effectiveness based on on age sex etc for every treatment. I know still it would be variable but hey something is better than nothing. One of the moderators here BA used to speak highly of this treatment, but who knows!

I never understood all the radiofrequency hype when there has yet to be substantial evidence that it works beyond all the marketing photos which are either touched up or underwhelming at best

It is hard to say because most people get Infini with subcision or Infini and then laser and its just hard to tell if Infini really improves scars by a dramatic amount. I had four Infini sessions spaced an average of two months apart and then I got erbium laser. Im not going to say Infini did *nothing*but I cant really remember if it did *something*... if that makes sense.

I guess I would argue to get Infini rf than to not get it but I can tell you that I wont be doing another Infini treatment because I think lasers are superior when it comes to dramatic scar revision (this is my opinion and based on my skin results).

I would agree if it wasn't so expensive. One place I got a quote for it was 2k. That's too much for something you need multiple treatments for and which you don't even know will work. I pay around 2k for a trio from rullan but at least I know that'll do something lol

Negotiate. Doctorsalways come out with their top price. Say you can only do $$$ amount but if they can do a pack wage deal. Thats what I did. I believe I paid $500 each for a package of four treatments. But again, consider the fact that it may or may not help your skin.

Rf microneedling softens the scars and fills them up a tiny bit. Nothing major. It can help improve them making them look less jarring but if you want more dramatic results go for some other treatment, orat least combine with subcision and cross.

It can help with these but you will need 5-6 + sessions. Forbest resultson the boxcar scars combine with tca cross.

Hi there! I agree with you about the importance of settings in RF microneedling. I had the treatment done a few months back, and it was awesome! I was struggling with some acne scars and enlarged pores, and RF microneedling helped improve my skin's appearance.
However, indeed, different settings and the number of treatments can greatly impact the outcome. That's why it's important to research and find a qualified practitioner who can tailor the treatment to your specific needs and concerns.
In my case, my practitioner used the right settings, and I did a few sessions, and I can say that the results were noticeable and long-lasting. My skin looks smoother, and the scars and pores are much less noticeable.
