Hi,

I had cannula subcision done 5 weeks ago for atrophic acne scars on my left cheek. Now, my skin has 4 strange lumps (2 visible with the eye, other 2 can only be felt), and a strange indented line looking thing between my mouth and chin/jawline. See attached photos. I contacted my doctor about it but he said to wait 6 months before worrying or considering the results final. I am freaking out - could this be permanent? The line looking indentation I am especially worried about. Has anyone seen this kind of complication from subcision?

First photo shows line indent (when skin is stretched) with lump above it.

second photo is a smaller lump higher on the cheek.

i think you are fine, these lumps will go away with time. If not, these will be corrected when he does the next subcision. Did he use nokor or cannula? I know nokor causes lumps more frequently..

Thanks for the tip. However, I am reluctant to get another subcision if these do not resolve before then. He used cannula so Im surprised I had such side-effects. I will wait at least 3 months before deciding if I will do another treatment.

Well its not 100 percent science, I had a lump as well after 1st subcision, it took some time and after 2nd subcision it got better, I guess the blood clots in that area either it will take time or another subcision to break it up.
