This is the left side and the one in the red circle is from chicken pox. I encircled it so that you can compare the depth and size of it with my acne scars on temple
As you can see I have many small boxcar scars? Dilated pores and some ice pick scars. I honestly don't even know what kind of scars they are. So far I've done one session of subcision with filler several months ago and I regret it although it helped tremendously for one indented scar on my chin, I think it left some lumps on my temples idk.
I read that TCA cross works best for ice pick and narrow boxcars and I don't know if my boxcar scars are narrow enough.
This is the right side. Not the correct lighting i know but my arms started hurting too much
I've actually already booked for tca cross with the dermatologist(not the one who did subcision) and he's one of the very few doctors who perfrome tca cross in country I live. Laser treatments are usually performed by plastic surgeons and the plastic surgeons here think tca cross and subcision are outdated and agressive treatments which are already replaced by laser treatments(sigh). My dermatologist told me that after 3-4 sessions of tca cross i will need laser resurfacing.
I've given up on large pores but I would love to improve skin texture and some prominent acne scars which always have been my biggest insecurity.
TCA Cross might work, but based on your skin condition, I think the treatment might introduce you more side effects than the benefits. Your skin texture is awesome, and your scars are barely visible. The aggressive treatment might only provide you minimal improvements, but comeswith more side effects, for example PIE, PIH, and new scars especiallywhen you have darker skin type.
If I were you, I might just go with some mild treatments, like light chemical peels or non-ablative laser at lower settings and definitely NO to any aggressive treatments.
I can see the scars, but I can't really tell how deep they are. Can you take another pic, this time considering the instruction outlined below? Basically, I need to see SHADOWS AROUND THE SCAR.
Angled lighting is an approach used to create a heavy shadow that will accentuate the scar for better evaluation as shown below. This is done by pointing a bright light perpendicular (90-degree) to the angle of the lens. See below.
Also don't shoot so close that it only shows the cheek. Try to include other parts of the face (eg. nose, mouth and/or ear). This will give better perspective of the scar size.

Are these pictures good enough?

They arent very deep but many in number. With some harsh lighting scars look pretty prominent though.. I didn't know that tca cross was considered very agressive i just thought it's always safe to start with manual procedures like tca or subcision then move on to laser treatments. Thanks for the opinion..!
