Hello everyone, I™m new here.  I™m older, and have dealt with acne my whole life, so...about 35 years.  I have quite a bit of scarring left over from not taking care of my skin like I should have.  I don™t know how to proceed with so many options, I thought maybe I could get some advice. My problem is...before and after pictures online always look like magic.  I saw what microneedling could do, so I went.  Got 4 treatments totaling 1300.00 and saw zero improvement.  🙁  I don™t know if she was doing it wrong, or if I™m just not going to respond to it.  So now I am cautious on what to do since procedures are not cheap!

I am assuming I will need fillers, Subcision, Fraxel, and other treatments. I just can™t afford it all right now with what™s going on with Covid.

So, my question is...what will help the most, but not cost over 500.00?  I was thinking of getting a chemical peel just to even out my skin tone, for right now,  if nothing else.  Right now, I™m using Retin A, for about a month, with no difference.  Thank you for your help!

You need subcision and fat grafting for filler like yesterday man. Itll bringa significant improvement to your scars.

Fat grafting will likely be expensive. So maybe start with subcision. Not sure if you can find a skilled doc whos willing to do it for under $500. Depends on where you are I guess.

if you increase your budget to $800 you might have better luck securing a subcision specialist.

Id recommend hold off on chemical peels because its the loss in cheek volume thatsmaking your scars moreprominent. Texture and skin tone should beyour secondary concerns.

You have combination of rolling and boxcar scars. I agree, most treatments are too expensive and frankly ineffective. Hence I suggest you do TCA at home. First, go on YouTube and search for "TCA tutorials". Take the time to understand thoroughly what is involved. If this is your first foray into chemical peel, you need to start out on low concentration like 20% and work yourself up. Eventually, you will need to apply higher strength TCA (80-100%) for the deeper scars and lower strength (35-50%) for the shallower ones. Feel free to send PM if you have questions. Good luck.

Thanks guys! I will look into both and focus on researching them rather than other modes.

sirius, I feel like a peel wont help with the scars, I was thinking more just for evenness. Am I wrong?

Well, not exactly wrong but not right either. While you're talking about TCA peels that are on the lower end of the range, I'm talking about TCA cross that are on the upper range. You're right that TCA 35% won't do much for your scars. But TCA 100% might.
