Harsh dermarolling or multiple sessions?

I was wondering, what's the best option for dermarollingbetween a very harsh dermarolling session(2.0mm rolled untilface was swollen and purple) with some subcisionor multiple normal dermarolling sessions with same needle length.(all done by a specialist)

My thought was: Multiple sessions are better because it breaks the scar tissue on the day which is done and starts the healing process weeks afterand when the next sessionis done it breaks the new scar tissue formed while your skin is inducing collagen enabling the new collagen to fill the spaces just opened in that session, am I correct? If not, why?

@edsoonwWho would do harsh microneedling. Damage of the skin is a real thing. You can cause more scars. Inexperienced or over zealous providers can make you loose fat if they go too deeply. I don't know who told you that you need 2mm, but only .75 to 1.5mm is needed depending on the thickness of the skin. Why would you roll until swollen and purple, not necessary. What's the point of doing all of that in the same session, to make your skin a bloody mess?

You always have to allow time to heal, ... Subcision you wait 3 months between treatments,"normal microneedling" you wait 1 month between treatments. IT depends on your scar type(pictures) not the treatments stated a plan is given.

yea, @beautifulambition, actually I did the harsh one after 2 dermapen sessions, and it looks like the results were proportional to the harshness, cant say for sure because it is still healing(5 months already)..

regardless, what about my thought about the scaring tissue on "

is it correct?

The healing process starts immediately after the injury (needling), not weeks after. New collagen formulation peaks at 2 weeks time but continues for a long time. Leave at least a month between needling sessions. While needling you stop when you achieve pin-point bleeding. Depth depends on the region in the face, more for fatty areas, less for bony areas (forehead for example)

Harshness means nothing in scar treatments as it can also cause more scars. You state that it's working for you so do whatever seems to give you results. I get more negative than positive results from over aggressive treatment. It's not necessary and can make healing terrible. Exactly, at 5 months of healing that is bad and not normal. Nothing should take this long to heal, and it seems you have sensitivity. You will cause scar tissue over treating.

This second part makes no since" Multiple sessions are better because it breaks the scar tissue on the day which is done and starts the healing process weeks afterand when the next sessionis done it breaksthe new scar tissue formed while your skin is inducing collagen enabling the new collagen to fill the spaces just opened in that session, amI correct? If not, why?" - we are not trying to over treat, we are stimulating your body to form new collagen. This is fragile. You over treating and aggressively doing treatments causes you 5 months of down time. This is NOT normal. You should be concerned about progressively healing, not jack hammering our skin. Please see a dermatologist this concerns me"5 months and still healing." We want to do the minimum required to cause you no harm / damage and get results, ... you must like the pain haha.

@beautifulambitionThose were my first concerns as well, the pain, results...

The procedure was done like this:

1- Numbing cream

2- Nerve blockers

3- Subcisions

4- A lot of rolling and some more subcisions

So the rolling and subcision parts weren't painful at all, what did hurt a lot were the nerve blockers, those felt like acid inside my skin.

When it was done, there was a lot of blood and my cheeks were purple and swollen.

After 2 weeksmy cheeks were still 'redder' than the usual but there was no visible colateral effects excepting the redness on the scars, from the first month till now my skin is kind of swollen, which I think it's ok considering the harshness of the treatment. It feels the same as when Idid my previous dermaneedling sessions with Dermapen, but with a longer processI guess. The same process, first the "glowing" good skin, then my skin went completely opposite and got worse and on these days are when I can feel my scars tingling(which is the "stage" i am on), and after it my skin goes back to normal, without the swelling, and my scars looksless prominent.

I don't know if I used the correct words on the previous answers, but what i meant with "healing" is that I can still feel the process I described above.

Thank you for the replies, I know you have so much work to do and you help a lot of people here, I aprecciate what you do and I hope you can even spread more rightinformations to people who needs it.

Medically speaking you dont make a whole lot of sense, your body is a complex organism and different things go on in the skin, may not all be affected by your treatments months ago.
What we would like to see is pictures mate :)
