Hi, Ive started undergoing acne scar treatment in India. They dont discuss the proper treatment with me in detail. For now Im done with 2 microneedling rf with 1 month gap in between each. I dont see any result. Im very confused. Theres so many treatment plans and options I see. I want the scars to be gone and I have no issues with any downtime. Im ready to be patient but want the best possible result. Are these doctors fooling me? Please suggest me the right procedure to get rid of my kind of scarring, I have mixed scars, box scar, ice pick, rolling and also one deep scar that looks little indented, left from one nodular cystic acne.
@Giggles94I would not have started with rf needling, this is what a bad Dr does. He uses laser or rf needling before manually treating your scars. You circled a red PIE area which takes time to heal up to a year.

@beautifulambitionok got it. Thank you so much for your reply. I have another doubt. Can I havea skin care regime with aha/bha/glycolic acidmeanwhile? Ive got myself a low pH cleanser and a moisturiser with some oils high in linoleic acid. Also what are your thoughts on Korean skin care routine that is double cleansing and stuff?
@Giggles94You of course do not use these things during the Dr's treatment while healing or wounded. Once healed then you can use them for some that's a week and for others several weeks. Do not exfoliate fresh treatments with acid until fully healed. I would not use a moisturizer with linoleic acid while doing treatments with a Dr. You need skin care for sensitive skin with few ingredients while healing that is not over exfoliating or harsh. But if it works well for you and you have no reactions great.
Korean double cleansing is unnecessary. Sells lots of products for them though. Once can have great results with just the basics. If you wish to ask more about Korean skincare, ... goto reddit.com find the subreddit asianskincare .

@beautifulambitionThank you so much for the reply. Im gonna go with your adviceand let my skin heal for 3 months before I see the Dermagain and ask for manual treatment this time before rf or anything else. I live in India, do you recommend any good dermatologists here? The one Im going to is pretty good but like you said Im scared to go back to her as she started my treatment with rf instead of manual work, which makes me think she just wants $$$ ..Also,you mentioned that I need to include Retin-a, vitamin C, niacinamideetc in my routine. When posttreatment (say rf/subcision/laser) shouldI start using them? Can I use all three at once? Or just start with one active at a time ..If so, which one do I begin with first for the best result? My skin is oily-combination (t zone and beginning of cheeks get oily)and and a little sensitive as well.
I will google reddit regarding the Asian skin care routine. Unfortunately I bought a new cleanser from Krave beauty (matcha hemp) and great barrier relief (a product with Tamanu oil, niacinamide, safflower oil etc) to repairdamaged skin barrier. Havent started using them yet. The cleanser Im currently using is a foam cleanser from Avene and it works well, I dont use a moisturiser or a toner, I just use avene thermal spring water for moisturiser and then go for sunscreen as the place I live in gets very hot and humid all the time. Is this routine okay or would you recommend me using a toner and a proper moisturiser? Also so can u please recommend me some make up removers? Everything I buy and use seem to break me out. I mean theres oil based ones, alcoholic and non alcoholic ones.. Im very confused.
@Giggles94Welcome! Sadly there are not a bunch of great Indian Dr's I know of: try the FAQ - top of the scar treatments sub pinned there. Bottom of that find India. Try Instagram, facebook, and youtube, search for"subcision," and a nearby big city eg. subcision Bangalore. Try it in your own language. Plastic Surgeon's can be good but hard to find for aesthetic treatments. I am told by many in India that a Dr is not required to do these things, and often they just do them badly on people to get money. Look for someone more legitimate. If you like your Dr great, stay with her, tell her you do not want certain things and direct how you want treatment. It never hurts to get a few more consultations while seeing her, then pick one.
You do the retin-a, etc nightly before any treatment, ... after you treat you wait until you heal this is a week for some and a few for others. Then start using it nightly again. Vitamin C is not something you do nightly. You can do that once or twice a week, the same thing with a retin - a, you can do it even once a week and see how you do, ... then perhaps more. Sensitiveyou want as few products as possible. I would not use the oil products you also mention with oily sensitive skin. You want basic skincare with as few ingredients as possible. The barrier releif has lots of oil in it, soI cannot say how you will respond, spot test it on a small area. You have some good products in there. Just keep it simple.
No one needs a toner. Remover, ... people use oils to remove makeup, including mineral oil. Then they wash their face with soap afterwards.
Moisturizer, ... as few ingredients as possible, for"sensitive skin." With oily skin you might get away with a lotion or gel as well, research what is local.
Cut out oil products.
Your oily and break out, start using a BP foaming cleaning, leave on for 5 mins, or a salicylic acid acne wash and do the same, or a sulfur soap.Spot treat zits.
