I™m sorry for posting this, I believe this question has been asked by several people with the same skin issues as I have got. BUT, I have troubles identifying my scars, and acne through 13 years has made me quite skin dysmorphic, and I need someone to give me a realistic perspective of my current skin situation! (:

I™m a female in my late twenties, currently on a isotretinoin cure, due to finish this summer. I™m finally acne free with little to no side effects, low skin sensitivity both on and off medicine. My current issues are scaring and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (I think). I,ve been acne free for about 3-4 months or so.

Two weeks ago I got 1 ml HA-filler (0,5 ml on each cheek) with subsicion. Today I got some more subsicion done + 1 ml voluma filler. I got this treatment done by a cosmetic dermatology nurse (norwegian definition. We definietly see some improvement, and she wants do a strong peel + micro needling when  my isotretinoin treatment is over. I live in a smaller city in Norway with only one dermatologist. He only does procedures covered by the norwegian wellfare system, acne scarring is not covered by this arrangement. This means I have to travel for quite a few hours to get a second opinion, thus, I™m reaching out to my peers:smileys_n_people_95:

@NeineiThank you for posting, ... your on the right track. Good for you about doing something to treat your scars.

If you are dysmorhic I would highly suggest seeing a therapist. There are even online apps where you can get private therapy now if your struggling. We often treat the outward scars but do not deal with the internal ones which are just as painful to deal with.

Ok so Accutane, ... summer finish, 6 months after that you will be healed and can do laser treatments. You can do the manual methods now as your doing like subcision, but only every 3 months. The skin is in terrible condition after Accutane, dry, thin, less fat, fast turnover, sensitive. This is why it needs to heal and it will improve some on it 's own with time.

I don't see Hyperpigmentation, I do see textural issues.

Thank you so much for responding!

We weren™t planning on doing anything more before I™ve been off isotretinoin for a while, and the second subsicion was done after the HA softened the tissue, as my oldest scars were getting a little bit too tough for the cannula.

I guess I have to do some travelling. The clinic were I live only offers zo medical peels, juvederm,  derma pen 4, and non-ablative lasers.

The first picture is a little bit overexposed and the others were taken with a little bit of make up on. I have hyperpigmentation on both cheeks. Looks quite vulgar when I zoom in like that. :smileys_n_people_133:

@NeineiYou are right, that is PIE or wounding post acne, ... redness. Vascular laser or pulse dye laser could help with that, many sessions, it does not damage the skin and can be done while on Accutane if your Dr / Nurse agrees, some say wait 6 months after tane.

Don't get overwhelmed, marathon not a sprint. Some can only treat once a year, and that's cool .

Travel for the things you need, and the other treatments do locally.

I would use the derminator or needle monthly between Dr visits.

(DO NOT - use Retin-a type products or hydroquinone below until your finish tane, everything else is safe)

@NeineiGreat! Was it the clinic we have in the FAQ from Oslo or you found another, ... I can help other people if you found another resource for subcision.
