Hi Acne.org Community,

I stopped taking Accutane 5 month ago, and even though I love that I do not have any breakouts anymore, my scars became much more noticeable.

I live in Germany and have not found anyone that is specialized with scar revision. The most recent dermatologist that I saw recommending picosure to me. She said we could do a few subscisions and picosure laser will help to get rid of my scars.

However, from some research that I have done, most recommend picosure only for fresh (red) acne scars or could it help with my scars as well?

Please correct me if I™m wrong, but I think the best treatment for me would be subscisions and Erbium fully Ablative Laser. Is this correct? I really don™t want to waste my money.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Picosure does stimulate collagen - but is mainly used for hyperpigmentation reds/browns, but I do think your need 4 cannular subcisions. RF needling is in most places in Germany, you can do this between your subcisions. Also CO2 laser can be done to the individual boxcars and that would work better for your case. Erbium would not be right in your current condition as you have divots and linear (lines) indent. It wont be deep enough. You need to get some subcision and filler then worry about energy devices. Erbium laser or tca peels are done at the very end when things are raised a bit.

I would consult with 2-3 plastic surgeons and derms with lasers and pick the one your comfortable with.

Thank you very much for your responseand your time.

1. Do you mean 2-4 sessions of subcisions?

2. Is there a particular CO2 laser that you would recommend and one that I should stay away from?

Thanks again!

@356936_14439499661. Yes

2. Goto someone with experience in aesthetic dermatology. There are many different brands, What matter's most is their skill.

I would consult with 2-3 plastic surgeons and derms with lasers and pick the one your comfortable with.- their treatment plan may be different than mine, that is why I want you to get multiple opinions.
