Has anyone tried correcting atrophic scars with fillers?
If so, for how long does the results last? I'm considering to have fillers after subcision to correct my scars but I'd like to see some positive feedback on that first.
Also, how much has fillers contributed to the improvement?
Hey, fillers are in my opinion as well as others the most reliable and safest form of acne scar treatment. With any other treatments ie TCA cross, laser, micro needling etc you are banking on your skin healing and leaving a better looking mark than the one before. With filler you keep the epidermis in tact which saves you from any potential side effects from damaging it and you get to fill the scar without causing any damage to the dermis therefore you have no downtime and instant results. Filler does look better immediately after the treatment but often times this is swelling and eventually in a couple weeks the scars will start to reappear but not to the degree they were once there. If your scarring is suitable for filler (rolling and shallow boxcar scarring) consider yourself very lucky because you basically get to do treatments without having to worry about any possible side effects and most of the time will get great results. I would do extensive research on potential doctors as this procedure is literally 100% dependent on the skill of your doctor. I think @beautifulambitionhas a section where he recommends doctors from certain areas around the world, so check to see what works best for you. I wish you the best of luck!
They work well but will likely require followups since it's hard to see the scar when the skin swells starting from the first injection. Lasts about a half year. You will need less of it overtime since it stimulates collagen growth. Some very minor scars may disappear permanently after a couple injections. That's my experience with restylane and perlane.
