Hello people,
I just wanted to ask what you think the best treatment would be for deep ice pick scars. I see that a lot of people suggest TCA cross, I did several rounds of TCA peels which did nothing. Dermabrasion, subcision, fillers also did nothing at all. I had punch elevations done on boxcars, and those actually somewhat worked, but I couldn't use them for icepicks. I also had a couple of excisions which did not work. Now a dermatologist is suggesting co2 fraxel laser, but I don't know if I want to go through with that.
What do you think I should do?
@freshmanCan you take for me more pictures with directional lighting or a flashlight. Scars make shadows so hard to tell from the one pic.
Let me use a pot hole analogy, ... we cannot resurface the road until we fill in the potholes.
TCA peels will not have you as you do not have this type of scar issues currently for it to work. You do need TCA Cross for the icepicks and large pores. Dermabration can mess up your skin texture, ... you could be over treated. Also I see subcision latter on in the list which is not the progression of treatment. This is why I ask for more pics to see if this is needed (many sessions are needed). The derm is saying Fraxel co2 because you say nothing else works. CO2 3-7% density at the highest power, does not need to be Fraxel can be effective for large pores but so is RF needling below. Cross should have been done many times first. This will not be a quick solution with all those treatments. You may be a poor healer that was offered the wrong solutions and as such I would not do any more resurfacing procedures, ... this is why punch elevation worked it is a manual method.
TCA Cross several sessions for the icepicks.
I believe I see surface rolling scars.Icepicks and scarred pores.
I would do 3-4 sessions of subcision, with prp.
Between that 2-4 sessions of rf needling space them between the subcisions or CO2 3-7% density at the highest power.
If you need more improvement 1927nm Fraxel for pores (optional).
You can then do several tca peels (optional - this does not work until the scars are addressed).
Reddness in the cheeks use V-beam.
Scar work is a marathon not a race. Allow 3 months between all treatments, many treat over 3 years as they have time and money. Everything is optional. Manual methods always first ie.sub-cross!
