Ive decided I finally want to treat the acne/chicken pox scars I have left (predominately on my chin and on my cheeks). I dont have bad scars but I hate them in certain lights.
Ive been assessed by numerous dermatologists and recommended different treatments. At the end of the day Id be happy with 10% improvement (though aiming for more than that), my biggest concern is it making the scars worse or creating new ones.
Treatments recommended (all are different dermatologists)
- Fraxel dual (restore)
- Eribium laser
- Chemical peel sessions followed by skin needling.
- micro needling/pr laser to heal.
Interested to hear opinions. Thank you for your time. Photo was taken in the worst light I could find to hopefully show them! The ones on my chin are quite deep and from some cyst pimples I squeezed and squeezed when I was a teenager.. stupid!
Worst light you can find? This looks like a typical picture one would take for Instagram; hardly the worst light. Looking at your photo: Few irregularities on your chin area, but otherwise I notice nothing. To really see what is going ontakea picture in actual bad lighting, ie. flash light pointed indirectly at your face within a darkened room; only then can we make a proper judgement, girl.
@chickbree123I agree with @ChildhoodDreamshere.
Please post some more pics using a flashlight that makes shadows, ... aka directional light of your scars. Otherwise I cannot see "any" scarring in your picture besides a few textural irregularities that could be corrected on the chin with a peel or laser.
Better lighting needed. As a hint, chicken pox scarring is VERY different to acne scarring. 1. Saucer shaped 2. More fibrosis (FRAXEL will do very little) 3. Atrophic and tethered. Best general treatment is to soften it up with 25-30 g saline subcision, then laser, then finally to PREVENT donut effect filler with HA - if needed. A long process but definitely achievable. Manual over device in this case. Wish you well
