the scarred area is mainly on the left side of the face (see first 4 pictures). On the right side of my face there is a raised scar (see last picture). Is this a hypertrophic or keloid scar? It is not directly visible on daylight but especially when I am smiling it is more visible (on the picture I smiled very intense to give you the best view, of course nobody sees it like this but for me it is really annoying).
Could you please classify my acne scar types and give me advises what I can do. And how severe do my scars look like?
My plan is it to go to Dr. Henningsen. I live in Frankfurt, Germany and I am 28 years old (Asian/persianskin type) and I am willing to go to an acne scar specialists. Prof Chu is also possible but I have a better feeling to go to Dr. Henningsen.
The raised keloid you inject with steriod and laser. The other rolling / boxcars. Goto Dr. Emil and get cannular subcision with filler. You will need 3 treatments. Space them out depending on when the filler runs out. I would do 3 treatments of rf microneedling spaced between the subcision (while waiting for filler to run out). I would also get tca cross paint on technique for the smaller box cars and ice pics. Emil does erbium laser this will help as well. You can do something for resurfacing towards the end. Like (no grids - fully ablative resurfacing of the scars). Because you have a ethnic skin type start using retin - a / tretinorin / differin now nightly with a bleaching cream w/ konjac and albutin. Stop one week before treatments. This prevents hyperpigmentation.
Thx for your reply. I dont know why my post moved to the hypertrophic scar section since the majority of my scars are rolling and boxscars and some ice pics. The keloid scar is the only exception.
What do you think about the potential results of your suggested treatments and could you tell me how severe my scars are? Do we talk about light, moderate or severe scarring and what about the potential percentage of improvement of this kind of scars.
Thank you for your advises / information.
Potential results? It all depends how you heal. It must be done over time and several treatments as a plan. Dr Emil will not most likely follow my recommendations. IT's to give you a alternative. I have heard he sometimes does laser tca and sub in the same session. I like to space things out, the body takes 3-6 months to heal, compounding does not help this process or observation.
I dislike giving people grades of their scarring, yours is not the worse I see daily. I get 20 cases that are much more horrific. Mild / medium scarring.
I don't do percentage of improvements, as I have no liability for your care. I am not your bodies ability to heal nor am I doing the process. The Dr will tell you 100% to get you to keep paying. This is marketing 101. You must evaluate what works for you over time (learn to say no - give time of healing and reflection), and how you heal,/ technique. Health can also affect this ... alcohol, diet, auto immune, sleep, exercise, genetics, etc... There is no guarantees with this type of thing.
Go in expecting "some" improvement. Often people are disappointed by perfection.
You said that it would be good to use a bleaching vream with konjac and albutin but I cannot find a lotion that has these ingredients? Is it the same like Arbutin which substitutes Hydroquinone and the other thing I am not sure what this is - konjac??
I have tretinoin+ steroid and 5% hydroquinone at home but I am really careful because it is really strong. I also have 1 percent retinol from Paulas Choice which I am using every night (only one pump) and I dont have any problem with it as long as I am not using too much retinol. I always use suncreen (spf 50 from neogen)
I also bought 3.4 OZ Meladerm but I really dont know if this company is using fake reviews? So far I did not use it because I want to be sure id that is ok to use on my face.

From now on I ask before I make any mistakes in my skin care routine. Thank you for your support. It would be great if you can help me with this.
Summary: i have the following lotions at home.
1.) 0,1 % tretinoin +steroid + 5% hydroquinone
2.) Paulas choice 1% retinol treatment
3.) meladerm
You might ask yourself why i have so many different lotions. I also have a deep tan on my face after using massively aha and bha peels without usinf sunscreen. After this dumb idea I am at least 3 shades darker than the rest of my body.
If you have any other recommendation concerning bleaching lotions please let me know. It is also a preparation for my visit at Dr. EMIL henningsen.
Thank you very much in advance. I really appreciate your support.
Would be grear if other membera could tell me if they have experiences with this meladerm lotion. Dr. LIM also recommended it on one of his youtube Videos so I dont know if this is bogus or really works like thousands of reviews confirm. What is the truth???? :-(. Some say it is a waste of money and it does nothing at all!
That product seems like advertising to me - meladerm is like 100+ other products out there. Perhaps it works. Ingredients look fine.
Whatever has albutin and konjac works well. Or a Dr's treatment is hydroquinone. Brand names don't matter here (mostly marketing).
If anything is strong you mix it with moisturizer or skip days to thin it out.
