Hey forum,
Can anyone help me identify what kind of Acne Scars I may have? and what kind of treatment might be suitable for me.
I've actually looked into products like, DermaRoller (or something similar), are they any good?
I don't mind if the product takes months or years to see results, I've kinda just learned to live with my acne / scars..
But at the same time, who wouldn't love clearer skin? =]. Thanks in Advance.

In my opinion paying for professional needling is worthless unless you're going for radiofrequency devices. The derminator is a professional tool and will save you so much money.

Great! I will look into this ^_^.
Under my beard my skin is fine. It's just mainly around the cheeks and the temple where the problem occurs.

I would look into microneedling with PRP. I am scheduled in January but have been researching for months. It looks like your scars would be helped by this. Usually it takes 3-6 treatments. Just depends on your healing time. Good luck!

Yeah, I kinda wanted to stay away from the professional needling as it can be pretty expensive :smileys_n_people_67:,
but that doesn't mean I want to completely rule it out. Maybe if things tend to get a little cheaper (hopefully).

I will check out the Derminator though.

Thanks a bunch all.

PRP does little ""alone"" for scarring, but it does speed up healing / stimulates collagen. You can get the derminator for cheap, If cost is a issue.

Note if you microneedling (Dermarolling is the worst idea), creates microtears, ....dermastamping or derminator does not do this. You apply to the individual scars.

Microneedling only works if done in conjunction with TCA peels.RF Microneedling is indeed better but very expensive so I try to give options for all types of acne scar suffers. Much less treatments are needed through a doctor and faster results. Tradtional Microneedling is a very slow process.

I think the Op needs some subcision work (without filler - have seen some providers mess up this area with bumps, but with saline or Chinese cupping (amazon) for a few weeks after. He needs 3 of them. This should be the start. Especially in the temple area I have seen good things. Then start your microneedling and tca peels. Alternate. Put a few months between treatments. So your treating over time.

Chekout the FAQ - top of the scar solutions sub, first post. Goto microneedling, subcision, and tca peels.

Temple scars are tethered and atrophic. There are clear attachments to the underlying structures. Looks hard, but relatively easy to treat. Subcision with a fine 29-30 G will do, often with a tiny amount of spacer filler, HA based. This has no downtime. Sure, microneedling can work, RF energy based is better and PRP can be used both as a spacer and to aid healing. IMO fine subcision with filler or even saline is the first step as the improvements will be marked, with a low downtime. From there other targeted treatments can be performed. I wish you well.

There is no need to treat an entire face if your scars are localized to one area of your face. I don't agree with that approach since you create greater damage over a wider swath of skin. Treat the scars themselves.

And I also agree that microneedling is something you can totally do at home. There is no reason to pay hundreds for it.
