Hello! So I've been struggling with acne for a couple years, and went through the usual treatments, (doxycycline, tretinoin, and finally bactrim). I also changed up my diet and started eating less fast foods and eliminated dairy. Finally after several years my acne is just about completely gone. Unfortunately, my acne decided to leave a goodbye present in the form of acne scarring. That's basically why I'm on here now, as I wanted to ask you all what type(s) of scars I have, and what you would believe to be the best treatment for my scars. I'm currently a college student and will likely visit the dermatologist when I go back home for a visit (roughly a month from now) but wanted to get an idea before then of what I should expect. Thanks!

Disclaimer: The attached pictures are from several months ago, so I still had some acne on my cheeks. Since then my scarring has likely gotten slightly better since I've continued using tretinoin, but for the most part everything is similar (except no pustules). I will attach new pictures tomorrow as early as possible.

Basically you have surface boxcars and icepicks. You should get multiple rounds of subcision.

PM me if you need help

I would suggest also doing TCA peels for the surface texture once you pop things up. For more info on these things or how to do them goto the faq - top of the acne scar sub, then the subcision and the tca acid peels section, click on all things peels link. Your scars are not that bad and I expect a good recovery, it takes time and several procedures.

Check PM's.

Boxcar, ice pick ... .and I would add atrophic and tethered, especially if you through some lighting tangentially. Atrophic scars on lower areas. Box car scars have some element of atrophy. The treatment would be very similar- subcision with PRP or filler followed by RF miconeedling insulated needle. Combine with PRP. Ice pick scars, treat with TCA CROSS. Realistically easy enough to treat with the correct techniques.
