Hi
so I had fractional Co2 and I previously posted about how I got mild laser burns that were indented and red, 3 weeks later I feel the indentation is gone however I am left with red lines that are sometimes brown (depending on the lighting). I assume this is PIE, however, I want to make sure.
I am currently using Differin 0.1 for my active acne and since its supposed to increase cell turnover, I think it can also fade the PIE (if that's what I have)
I also had Kiehls Microdermabrasion scrub that I am considering, however, I am worried that it might irritate the skin further.
Here are the recent pictures, What do you think i should do?
First of all this isn't scarring, its hyperpigmentation. If you can press on it and it goes away it's PIE, and if it stays it's hyperpigmentation aka PIH. We have a whole section on this in the faq in my signature below under skin. With many pigmented skin types they get hyperpigmentation after laser. Didn't your doctor treat you with vbeam, quadrostar pro, lasers for pigment? This is very common to deal with reds and browns. Anyone who is not pastey white should be on retin a / aka tretinorin for weeks before the treatment and after, with hydroquinone aka skin bleaching cream to avoid pigmentation. Pigmentation can take a long time to heal. If you are several weeks out of laser, I would start with the hydroquinone and continue your retin a. The pigmentation lasers above are the best.
DO NOT use the scrub,, unless you want to create more wounds and PIE / PIH. These are wounds.
@abod57Sure Acne.org has this in their store or you can get some.
