Hi ... to all members... i am new to this site.
please guide me which type of scars (boxcar, ice pik, rolling) i have on my face judging from.my pics. Hw much time dermaroller 0.5 require to improve/reducing the scars appearance with good skin care routine.
Some.one told me that the result of 0.5mm will be same as 1 or 1.5 .. i jus have to increase number of treatments is this true ?

.5 mm is not the same as 1.5mm, ... 1.5mm is the optimal number for scar softening. .5mm is for product penetration and does not even go to the depths of the dermis.

You also need TCA acid spot peels on your cheeks to deal with the texture. Do your microneedle (we on the forum like the derminator machine, the link is in the microneedle section)for a month, heal and then do your TCA peel. IT will take a year to see some results. Scars are never quick and one and done.

You have boxcars form what I can see.

Find out more in my signature, there is a link called FAQ below, goto microneedle, and peels.

You might eventually need subicision but you get that done at a doctor and it releases the deeper scars.

so basically u r saying that it wont improve with 0.5mm roller ? .. even if i use 0.5 roller for a year ? Sorry i cant go to that extreme e.g lasers ,subcision ...my best bet is derma roller and good skin care routine including homeremedies.

If i go to 1mm derma roller will it improve the appearance... i knw 100% removal is not likely but even 50% improvement will do wonder for me ... wts ur opinion?

1mm you have less chance of doing anything. Without TCA even more chance of it doing nothing.

Your only way to get any improvement is 1.5mm (it's only once per month) and tca spot peels on the area, alternating like I said when you heal. [Redacted]

We all heal differently, but expect a percentage of healing. People get their hopes up way to high. No skincare routine / home remedies will do anything to scars. They are deep into the skin. Your scars are minimal this is why I suggested doing microneedle and tca [Redacted] for a year or more. Subcision is not extreme but I give different people options, some people are scared of needles.

thnx fr ur valuable feedback...i visited a dermatologist today n he suggested erbium laser and said that my scar will improve 60-80% after 4-6 session. What do you suggest... is this worth to go for ?

I would always suggest subcision first, microneedle monthly, and tca peels alternating over any laser. Doctors love lasers $$$$ , they also have side effects. It is a risk you take to loose fat or heal poorly, or nothing at all happens. Why not try the cheaper methods with no energy before going that route. Acne is never one and done, it's a ongoing process. IF you want the quickest route try laser and let us know how you do, maybe it will meet your expectations, if you want to get the best effects I have seen universally try subcision, etc.... You can always do laser down the line.

Dermapen seems good (see how you do) and maybe a tca acid peel or some acid peel to do surface texture at the end of that. Your scars are really not bad. Let us know how you heal.

Glad your Dermapen session went ok. Easy fix. Tell the doctor you are very busy, school, work, whatever and schedule 3 weeks apart. You don't need to do every week because they tell you so. If this doesn't work tell him your fiances can only handle being seen every 3 or 4 weeks apart. He wants the cash, hence every week. It depends what length he is using. 2mm needs 3 to 4 weeks apart. Collagen takes time to build. Learn to say, no, it's your face 😉 OR get your own microneedle or derminator at owndoc.com and do it yourself at home whenever you want 😉
