I did some picking damage to my cheek a little over a week ago. I then had this pink and shiny skin where the scab peeled off. It came off in the shower. After this the pink skin stayed for a day or two and a light browning purplish colour began to form and close it up a bit. My question is, will this mark become something permanent or will it fade or disappear or something over time? Shall I apply anything?
Since it is fresh wound, I would suggest putting some triple antibiotic cream while it heals a bit first (2-4 weeks) before doing anything else. A wet wound heals better. You may use white vinegar diluted with water to pat it (cleaning it) daily. Then follow the PIE treatment (under skin texture: reds) if redness continues after it heals from the official link below. Do not do any treatments until is has time to heal, or it could make the scar worse. Wear sunscreen when outside or you could get PIH - pigmentation on that opened wound.
