What kind of scarring is this?

Hi all.

It's been about 6 months since I had several blemishes close together. I'm having trouble telling what kind of scarring I've been left with. Any ideas on what it is, the extent to which it will finish healing on its own, and my treatment options after that?

The skin feels indented, but only when I stretch it tight. (If I just run my hand down my face, it doesn't feel indented.) It looks indented from certain angles, but not from others. The skin texture is definitely different - it's shinier and feels slightly waxy. There is also a fair amount of hyperpigmentation (though the hyperpigmentation is very slowly fading).

I know these pictures aren't great, but here they are.

Thanks. How long does it usually take for that type of scar to reach its "final" state?

I didnt see it at first (which is a good sign) but I agree its a boxcar scar. Its so shallow and minor that I would not advise advise getting aggressive with treatments.

To answer your question, the general rule of thumb is 6 months, but they can improve and natural collagen production can help it over the course of years.
