Hi! I am a 24-year-old girl who got chicken pox about 2 months ago. I have about 3 noticeable scars on my face and dark spots all over my body. I am wondering if someone with similar experience can tell me if these nasty spots and scars will go anytime soon...Most of the internet says the scars won't go which made me utterly depressed as I had always felt insecure about my face due to acne and other skin irregularities but some people also told me that their indented scars filled up....I am very impatient and anxious because I don't know what to expect! Do you suggest surgical procedures...(I have dark skin tone). I am really looking forward to hear from the community.

Well, your scars are very new so they will change in time, but don't expect them to completely fill in, unless they are very, very shallow to begin with... and even then, you can never know for sure. If you can handle them on your face for a few months, wait and see. On the other hand, new scars have a better chance of responding to treatments, so I would go see a dermatologist/plastic surgeon as soon as possible, to at least get a professional opinion.
I got similar scars (boxcars) 3 months ago due to an infection and I understand what you're going through emotionally. I've never had flawless skin and makeup was my best friend, but since I've got these scars I just want my damn imperfect skin back. Good luck!

Hey, I'm a 16 year old who got chicken pox about a year and a half ago. First of all, I completely sympathize with you because I was and still am going through the same feeling as you are.
I have several spots all over my body and couple scars on my face. However, the dark spots on my body have diminished and are lighter but still noticeable. People often say it goes over time, but this has rigorously affected my social life and made my very insecure as my marks are still prominent.
I wish the best for us both, please do keep me updated :)
