what type of scars do you have?. Recell also wont do anything to your scars so dont wait on that its pretty useless.

I'm sorry I feel your pain. A bad scar has ruined my life too. I was also lied to by numerous doctors about treatments. The reality is, there is no cure for facial scarring. We are disfigured for life. I welcome my death with open arms to relieve myself from this hell on earth. Hang in there, it's only a matter of time before we die.

All depends on the scar if there's a loss of tissue then the only real option is subcision with fillers

seriously. this kid has one scar and acts like its the end of the world . this guy doesnt even have acne . id trade my scars all over my face for your one big scar on the forehead anyday

I did mixto and had really good results, maybe you just had the wrong kind of scars for it but its hard to say without a picture

Bullshit. You whine about your scars that no one can see and you post on this forum nonstop for attention, posting full face selfies so that people can tell you they don't see them. If you had my scar, you'd for sure blow your brains out.

According to your posts, you still date, go to school, and go out clubbing. I can't show my forehead in public and never leave my house. Yet you have the nerve to say that you'd take my large extremely noticeable scar that is way worse than all of your scars combined that you struggle to even capture in a picture? Please. I agree that some people like Scarface5665 clearly have BDD. However, some people on this forum who have clearly visible scarring and disfigurement, do not have BDD. If something is visible to the point of getting unwanted attention, like stares and comments, this is NOT imagined and is NOT BDD. No one tells the anorexic person that they are fat. I can't comment on the OP, but if they are getting pointed at and laughed at, then it's probably notBDD. My scar has gotten stares and comments, so I know what I'm suffering from is not BDD.

The pictures that you have posted are examples of people with real disfigurements, nothing is imagined there. However, majority of the population does not have skin like that. I don't think many people here want to look like models. They just don't want to stand out in a public in such a negative way. Yes, some here clearly have BDD. But others clearly have disfigurement. Visible scars on the outside are very different than internal scars and it is not fair to compare them.

A plastic surgeon can no longer help me. For my mental state, I've tried therapy (with top expensive therapists), meds, and exercise. Nothing has worked. My quality of life has been significantly reduced. I was simply telling the op that I feel his pain and for me the only way I will find peace is through death. I probably won't take my life, but I am ready to die. Our lives are pretty insignificant anyways in this vast universe. Before my accident, I lived a good life and experienced joy and pain. Now, I only experience pain. What's the point of living a joyless life? Everyone will suffer unbearably eventually, to the point where death is the only relief. Whether it's a disease, old age, mental illness, or a tragic accident, no one is immune. This world is too cruel. I unfortunately got hit rather early in life. But now I know that my life will never be the same and I am ready for the pain and suffering to end.

I live in a large city and when I walk around (with a hat on of course) I look at people's faces all the time. The reality is that most people do not have facial differences. I am not talking about a few small blemishes. I am talking about visible and unusual differences, like my deep trauma scar, a face full of acne scars, facial paralysis, or a large noticeable birthmark. And these noticeable facial differences do cause significant distress for people and create a social disability. In fact, I equate the mental suffering as similar to being paralyzed or loosing a limb.

There are some on this forum that are simply delusional, who are drama queens and seek pity and attention. But, I know that what the OP talks about is real. As a long time poster on this forum, I usually try to keep it constructive and focused on solutions. That said, I know first hand what it feels like to have people stare at you, snicker, or give you a look of disgust. It's really painful, and it's real. I've had more unfortunate experiences with assholes in public than I deserve for being just one person.

That said, I have made progress over the years. All we can hope for is improvement at this time.
