Ok so I just started dermarolling last week, Thursday to be exact and I was astounded by the temporary microswelling that made me look like I had semi-smooth skin. It was just so nice to look a little better, more normal for a change. Well I have read online that it is ok to dermaroll twice a week with a .5 needle length. By the third day post roll the inflammation was done and I rolled Monday night of the next week. I think Ill continue rolling every 3-4 days, but I wanted to hear the opinions of others. It would be great if some of you guys could share your experience in doing something similar to this.

I'm really holdingontohope that this helps my scars 😉
It would be great if by the end of August I could have some noticeable improvement. My scars are shallow but numerous and concentrated in my central cheeks. Its bad lighting that really amplifies them and makes me feel like poop, and it seems like bad lighting is everywhere:smileys_n_people_30::smileys_n_people_22:...gosh darn, I just don't know if Ill get over my acne scar obsession till I make the scars barely noticeable in whatever lighting.

Well I'm no longer dermarolling twice a week. My skin started to look really irritated(really red and gross), so I stopped. Now that I am out of my dorm and no longer looking at myself in bad lighting everyday my perception of their severity has diminished. Now don't get me wrong, I still obsess over them, but I guess I feel better about myself. I really wanna stop caring about them completely. I am starting to smell that day, it is near. Its just that sometimes you see yourself under bad lighting and all those terrible feelings rush back into your brain and its hard to break out of that cycle.

Ill upload some pictures in the next couple of days.
Today I saw myself in sunlight and pretty much all of my confidence in my appearance vanished and was replaced by depression and self loathing. Oh my gosh!!!! And I dermarolled last night for the first time in 1.5 months, and the swelling is supposed to make it look less severe; this means I might look even shittier on a normal day. I really want to talk to some girls but I'm so insecure about how I look, it kills me.

0,5 mm for scars don't work. Post a photo of your scars, 0,5 mm it's too short for the dermaroller to touch the base of the scars. Use 0.5 mm at most once per week not twice.

Hello Remicade!
I have rolling scars that are widespread but rather shallow. Would you say 0.75 mm would work for me? I've been doing it 3 times a week and the only results so far are the following 12 hour swelling and redness.
I'm afraid to go higher than 1mm because once I stamped with 1.5mm and got sunburnt like scabs for a whole week.

You are a woman or a men ? ( mans skin is about 25% thicker than a womans). Maybe you press too hard ?? Go for 1.5 mm dermastamp and press gently for 10-15 times. For scars you must insert needles at the base of the scars. 0,75 and 1 mm in my opinion are too short to have any effect on scars. Scabs are ok, lasers make scabs and after the skin regenerate. Personally I use 2.0 mm dermaroller, dermapen, dermastamp, I press hard but never got scabs.

I think I'll order a 1mm and if I'm okay with that I'll buy a 1.5mm roller. I threw the old one away. 0.75mm is great to get that swelling look the next day. I'm going to stick to 3 times/week on the .75mm until I get the 1mm. How long was it till you saw permanent results? About 6 months?

After 2 years. Sorry but the process is very-very slow ! 3 times/week it's too much, have mercy for your skin :(.

Most people on here wait a minimum of a month between rolls. You're doing it way too often. Your skin needs more time to recovery after rolling with 0.5 needle lenght. As far as I am concernedthe renewing skin cycle to newcollagenregrowth is 4-6 weeks.

I know most people do it that way, but most people here also report that there was no benefit at all. I still have to read from any user apart from Remicade who has had improvement from dermarolling only. I want to believe it is worth it, I'm doing it myself, would be stupid not to believe, still I think the maximum for 0.50mm is once a week but right now I'm doing it for the short term results, not what it may or may not benefit my skin in 2 or 3 or 4 years... Honestly, If it's something I can fit on my routine which takes about 5-10 minutes and gives me a normalish feeling I'd rather not be permanent and just keep doing it.

By the way, Remicade, I'm a man so 1.5mm I think on the long run, right?

Right. You can think in the future for 2.0 mm :).

What do you mean by inserting needles at the base of the scars?

It means that in depth, the scar only goes so far, so 1.5mm needles reach the lowest point of the scar and the normal tissue immediately beneath. That's what you want to happen.

Remicade, I forgot to mention, but my scars, unlike yours, are mostly on my cheek bones (the ones that bother me the most) and the skin there is a lot thinner. If they were on my cheeks I'd go for 2mm no doubt, but I just think it may be a bit too much for such a thin skin area.
