This thread is to help find the most effective methods for healing our scars. To those who have been lucky enough to heal their scars, we would appreciate your input:

1) what method was most effective in healing your scars?

2) what type of scars did you have?

3) what percentage did your scars heal?

4) how long did it take to see results?

5)how long did you have those scars?

6) what methods didn't work for your scars?

Bonus: any before and after pictures?

Thanks guys this would help us alot.

1. I know it gets a lot of hate here, but Fraxel dual noticeably filled in my scars. The small ones are basically gone but the larger ones still there. Im doing a series of glycolic peels now for my complexion, and looking at tca cross or subcision afterwards. After that I might go back to the dual.
2. Icepick and rolling
3. Hard to say, about 40%
4. The first 3 months of microswelling were amazing. My face was as smooth as a babys butt . My scars resurfaced almost as they were months 3-6, but after the 6 month mark they began mending together until about the one year mark where they have held.
5. about 8 years
6. Retin-a didnt do anything for me

I have generally heard that fraxel was a rip off and really doesn't help much. I have tried tca peels but those haven't helped either. Retin-a helped with complexion but didn't do anything for scars

Has anyone else tried multiple methods to remove scars or found an effective method that has worked for them?

I generally read the same things, but I think the only people who feel that way either had unrealistic expectations, low settings, or a bad doctor. I paid for two full face treatments, and my doctor gave me a freebie over my left cheek where the scarring is worst. If its done correctly it will definitely give your a hefty collagen boost that you cant get anywhere else.

My doc always says less is more with laser, whereas most doctors want to do one every month 5 or 6 months in a row. He says the best way is to do two a month apart, and then wait a year or two before doing another set, with peels in between. The idea is to continually boost your collagen over the course of years, instead of trying to do it all at once.

I had pictures taken in the office before the fraxel, and will be going in for after shots after I am done my peel series. Ill post them here when I do, I think people will like them.
