I'm 15 so things like chemical peels and fillers aren't really an option right now. I know the only thing that can be done is even out the skin, and I doubt there's anything I can do myself right now to accomplish that but I'm asking this while holding out hope. They're box scars, 2 on my left cheek, 3 on my right, not sure if they'd be considered shallow or deep, going with the latter for the most part. I was just about to start treating my acne and taking care of my skin, so this couldn't have hit at a worse time (about a week ago). :/
Anyways, any help would be appreciated, thanks. 🙂
Honestly, no. If scars could be treated at home, then no one would pay to go to a dermatologist. Changes in the skin's texture occur as a result of damage to the underlying structure of your skin, i.e. at a much deeper level than any topical can reach, especially any DIY home remedy.
Fortunately, you're very young and still growing; your skin may fully repair itself over time. Best thing you can do is focus on protection and prevention. Wear sunscreen daily, even if all you're doing is going to school and coming straight home. Scar tissue can be especially sensitive to sunlight, which is basically the root of all evil (aside from p. acne bacteria), and may impair your skin's ability to repair itself. Also, all acne medications make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, thus more prone to sun damage and prolonged healing of breakouts. Then the obvious is to prevent future breakouts. Finding the best routine takes time and consistency. Don't overlook the importance of being physically healthy -get at least 8 hours of sleep every night, drink 64 ounces of water every day,eat your vegetables, be active for at least 45-60 minutes, etc..
