I'm not exactly sure what total fx is. I did get a fraxel treatment a couple of years ago during an IPL treatment at Straith Clinic. I was not happy that I wasn't fully informed about the downtime. That said, it did a decent job on the scar. More importantly, because my skin is thicker there, I am not getting red marks as much as on the other side of my face. I have also had some IPL treatments at Masri Clinic. The physician there says fraxel is totally discredited in the medical community and has some other CO2 treatments that he uses. I would get a consult there.
I did get to speak with Dr. Haitham Masri for about 15 minutes, but that was only after they brought him in after several IPL treatments -- I think the assistants there felt that I finally needed a physician's opinion. The guy is obviously a genius. The thing is, I'm not sure if you'd be lucky enough to get him on the consult or even the surgery -- this is where it gets awkward at these clinics. The estheticians can do a lot of work that is probably borderline plastics. If you don't have to travel too far, it's worth a shot to see how you feel about the place. I think they have Birmingham and Dearborn locations.
I basically passed on everything other than IPL. Dr. Masri had all kinds of pulsed dye this, CO2 that in mind for me, but I simply don't have the downtime for it.
