Got myself booked in for a consultation on March 18th for TotalFX which is both ActiveFX ( Collagen stimulation ) And DeepFX ( Deeper skin, ablative ) together.

Has anyone else had experience with these treatments? My scarring isn't bad in comparison to some others, but it's still noticeable. I'll post a picture later this week.

Looking for to potentially dealing with these acne scars and rugged down uneven skin.

I have had one about a month ago. What do you want to know?

How was it? What are you expecting in results? Anything to do with the procedure is of interest!

Well, the procedure was ok I guess. It certainly was not pleasant, but it is tolerable. The most painfull part was the injections with the anesthetic. I got around a 100 of them (that is no exaggeration). Some parts of you face are completely numb, like near your ears, neck and jaw, on other parts you still feek a lot, like on your cheeks. The second part, that is the active fx, is way more painfull than the first part, the deep fx. But luckily the second part goes quite fast. Every laser pulse feels like an electric shock, but it is just a split second, the pain does not 'hang around'.

It became clear that the skill of the doctor is very important as he adjusts the settings and handpiece for every scar. Because of this the laser procedure itself took about 1 1/2 hours.

After the procedure your face will be all swollen and bloody. The blood washes off within a day or two. I got some scabbing which was gone around day five or six, but by then you will still be extremely red. During this time it will itch a little, but it is not painfull at all. The redness dies down after about two weeks.

As for the results, don't get fooled by the swelling which makes it look like your scars are gone. After two weeks, all my scars reappeared again. Results will take 6 months to show. I do see some improvement now, but it is very slight. You need to have patience.

I must note that my scarring is to the best of my guess quite severe. It is not so much deep, but i have quite a lot of textural irregularities and some hypertrophic scars. So if you only have light scarring, it might be a little different for you.

I hope to see a 25% improvement from this one, and I will go for a second one in may or june and hope to top it off with a full face co2 next winter.

Hope this helps!
