I've been lurking these forums for several months now. For the longest time I never put much thought into my acne/ acne scars. Reason being, I never truly had bad acne. Looking in the mirror now, I can see that the scars left behind tell a story of acne that wasn't as severe as the scars somehow depict.
I wanted to specifically ask about my forehead scars. For whatever reason I don't see the forehead mentioned as much as other areas of the face, namely cheeks. I know subscision + suction and/ or fillers is a popular option, but I don't know if the forehead is an area where this method would work. Also, my scars are scattered and somewhat shallow boxcars.
I know some very reputable posters here who always use a level head as well as science based facts. I'm looking for a bit of guidance from some of these posters as I begin my acne scar treatment journey. Much appreciation to anyone taking the time to read this.
Subscision + suction and/or fillers on the forehead can be done, but it is tricky since there are some large blood vessels in that erea. A good dermatologist or plastic surgeon can work his way around this, but experience is something you should look for.
I am, however, not quite sure if the type of scars you have are suitable for subscision. Subscision is mostly used for tetherd scars, that is, scars that are bound down. One way to see if your scars are tethered is to move the skin by either frowning or just pulling it with your hands. Are your scars moving with the rest of your skin? If so, then they are not tethered. If they are not moving with the rest of your skin, then they are tethered and subscision and suction might be a great method for you to improve your scars.
Hope this helps

I concur. However,TCA is also viable option for him
Thanks for the replies to the both of you. Any help is appreciated.
Just to be clear, you are referring to a TCA peel, correct?
TCA Cross. Albeit, that requires experience and or a Physician. However, since your scars have defined box-car-like edges, they probably can benefit from just spot tca peels alone over time. This means the edges (healthy skin) can be slowly 'sanded down' to scar level - therefore make the scar look less prominent. The tca will also come in contact with the scarred (unhealthy skin - pit) and stimulate collagen. For a more uniform look you would essentially apply the tca over your whole forehead but that calls for down time. Your forehead seems fine , so just the spot tca peels could do the trick, again, over time.
Check out Dc-girl pic's and blog on how to.
Oh and this is a process that took a year or two I believe ^
