I know the typical saying " don't pop or pick on your pimples" but even if I don't pop or pick on any pimples it would still leave a scar. My face was like the Great Plains and now it's turning into the Himalaya Mountains. It starting to look like the guy's teeth in the deez nuts video. It's not that bad but I'm still a dishonor. Is there any real prevention strategies to prevent acne scars from cysts or just one of those camel humpback pimples? I tried neosporin and in theory it would work but it's not. Any advice or comments would be taken warmly and fuzzily.

What is your diet like? I know that diet isn't always related to acne, but sometimes there is a connection. And even if it doesn't help with acne, you should keep a clean diet anyway. I know this girl who had some of the worst cystic acne you've ever seen. I was sure it would leave scars once she got off accutane. But her skin is perfect now that her acne has cleared up. She has always followed a strict healthy plant based diet. It didn't help with the acne, but at least she didn't suffer from scarring once the acne was gone. Just a thought.

It does take a lot of work and time to get rid of hyperpigmentation especially from cystic acne. I had severe scarring from my cysts and large pimples for a long while. One of my facialists recommended a product called, "Obaji Clarifying-C Serum" it is a powerful vitamin C hydroquinaolone topical you apply once a day only 1-2 drops after washing your face. It helps fade and prevent new spots from forming. Or you can also ask your Dermatologist for Tazorac which is the other of all Retin A's topical that is Vitamin A which helps treat blackheads, whiteheads, comdones (closed ones as well), and wrinkles by increasing cellular turn over. In more simple terms, it exfoliates the skin revealing brighter and plumper skin that naturally glows. It also fades spots and prevents new ones from forming. I know first hand what it's like to have a lot of battle scars and these products definitely has worked.

I also have to stress that sunscreen is key to preventing spots from the sun in addition. Sunscreen is essential especially if you are taking meds that make you sensitive to sunlight. There are so many benefits from sunscreen that you should incorporate it into your daily routine.
