Anyone who's considering co2 laser or will be, I'd appreciate your opinion on this.
I initially liked a derm, had a consult, and finally got a quote of " starts at $1000 for a SPOT treament" only of a scar. I asked how that works and they said because it's co2 they don't know how many passes it would take and so I'd be charged after I was treated and find out the final price then. But then the secretary herself also admitted that, having already seen me for the cosmetic consult, the derm probably already knew how many passes it would take.
I feel weird about it because
it seems higher than most quotes i received..a "leading" derm here gave me an actual solid quote, $750 for one session of the spot treatment.
IT had taken a long time and much begging to finally get a quote from his derm and when they finally do it's ambigious. I don't know how much more it could cost for a few passes. I had been vocal about their customer service and do you ever sometimes feel like those doctors who don't want to treat you raise the price or are ambiguous to deter you or dissuade you from coming so they will not have to deal with someone who pays attention to details and looks out for themselves? I don't know. Anybody else get quoted an ambiguous number? First, after a long time of asking for a quote and even though the derm KNEW i only wanted spot treatment she told the secretary $3000-5000 but that's for full face so the secretary pushed and she finally said starts at $1000. Any opinions on the price would be appreciated.
That sounds like a ripoff to me. How much extra work does it do to do multiple passes? You are wise to choose ablative CO2, but I would look for another doctor who is more concerned about you than his pocketbook. I had multiple passes for each of my Repairs and I was never charged extra.
Not sure who this doctor is, but it doesn't sound good. That much money for one spot is outrageous.
