Mild Rolling Scars

I have recently got off roaccutane (a.k.a accutane) a few weeks ago. My spots have have cleared up. I have red marks left over but they will fade with time. But what is really annoying me is when I look at my forehead in bright light I see bumps/rolls. I didn't know what this was until I searched it up and they are known as 'rolling scars' which barely fade/don't fade over time. These scars aren't THAT bad and can only be seen in light but its still annoying. I would say that these scars are mild/shallow and are only located in the center of my forehead. What treatment do you recommend for these rolls? I heard Subcusion is quite good. Thank you for your time and for your responses.

Try dermastamping for a while, then follow up with subcision.

Should I go to a climic for dermastamping? If so how many sessions do you think I will need? And is that anything I can do in the mean time to help these scars?

Since you just got off tane you probably shouldn't be doing anything for at least 6 months, since it can impair healing and you could end up with more scars.

But otherwise:

  • you can stamp at home
  • how many you'll need depends on depth and distribution of the scarring
  • you can use a retinoid to stimulate collagen and minimize the appearance of scar tissue.

Can I put retinol cream on my scars? As I don't know if I will be able to get a presciption for retinoid.

Retinol gets converted into retinoic acid in the skin so yeah, it'll "work", just not as quickly as an actual retinoid will.
