I has CO2 7 months ago and affirm laser 5-6 weeks ago. The pictures are from 3 or 4 months ago though.

Subcision and dermal filling with a product such as Juvederm ... you do have atrophic scars as well as tethered scars.

Some specialists do both in the one session...ie subcise to break the bonds that tie the scar down, and then filler at the

same time to fill up the depressed scars.

All the best

Thanks for the answer! I know who you are!, It's a pity I don't live in Australia...

I asked for a subcision to my dermatologist as I can't have laser in summer (also I live in Spain...) and he also proposed hialuronic acid as you. Will this avoid that the bonds appear again? I plan to do subcision tomorrow and the derma also said he only would do subcision in some scars. What's your opinion?

if I have hialuronic acid now could I have a prp+co2 laser after summer?

Also, what's your opinion on subcision+suction proposed by NomNomWaffles (thanks!)?

Best regards

In 8 hours I'll have a subcision, but I doubt between having filler or suction. Any advice?

Suction does seem more popular, but that's only from reading on these forums, please don't take my word for it and hope for another reply before your treatment.

May I ask how much percent improvement you seen from your Co2 laser treatment? Any permanent damage from the treatment?

If you have 2 weeks, do suction if you don't go for fillers. CO2 wont do smack for your scarring sorry to say.

I'm in the waiting room now. Price of the filler is 370 and I don't care to spend that amount if I have any advantage. Should I do suction or filler?

Btw, the doctor said this afternoon that I'm not a good candidate to subcision and I should have co2 first.

Finally the doctor said he only would do co2 with me. They have lost a customer. The problem for me now is that I don't think I can find a doctor in Spain who do subcision.

Second picture is 1 month after laser. I didn't peel, just got red face, so I think I didn't have an powerful setting.

skin needs time to build collagen after laser treatments , yes there are immediate results due to skin shrinkage but density settings should be high , i think these scars besides your mouth and chin really needs subcision !

Your doctor seems more interested in pushing you to do expensive lasers than trying something much cheaper and most likely more effective for your type of scarring. This is the kind of scarring that subcision is made for, honestly.

I think you were smart to move on from this doctor.

That's what i think, but the problem is not the doctor but his 'boss', a woman who was there every moment.

Now I have emailed 40 plastic surgeons asking for subcision (I did some tricks to do this). Let's see what happen.

I've just talked with a plastic surgeon and he accepted to do it. But he warned I have to be very careful with sun. What are the risk of having subcision with my white skin and the strong sun I have in Spain?

Is it the same one that suggested C02? Do you have 2 weeks off? If not ask for fillers

what would the downtime for subcision/filler be do you think? and as a followup, could you do subcision/filler if you had little downtime and then a few months later do subcision/suction? or would the fillers prevent this?

No, another one.

Today I visited 2 plastic surgeons:

Surgeon 1: He knows what he does and what I need. Price: 1000 for subcision + 500 for 2 vials of HA

Surgeon 2: He recommends "Nanofat". He would extract fat from my belly, take the stem cell part and inyect into my scars with subcision. He told me that effects would be visible in 8 months. I couldn't use suction as would destroy stem cells. Also offered (after I asked) HA, but he was eager with nanofat and he told very little about HA. (price 650 for 2 vials, subcision included)

I've found this paper abput nanograft: http://fatgraftingasia.com/downloads/Nanofat_Grafting___Basic_Research_and_Clinical.pdf

I know nothing of nanofat but the fact that it's 650 for not only subcision but also the vials (which sound promising) makes it a better deal. vs the $1500 + 500. Do you have the Dr's names?

Subcision filler - probs 1 week max, if you're a chick, 3 days with makeup i'd say.

I though of something similar before my procedure before - Subcision + Suction followed by fillers after the suctioning but the problem here would be injecting each scar precisely/correctly - the swelling would prevent this.

If you're anxious go Subcision - Filler that would give good quick results, which in turn could provide good permanent results in the long run. But then you wouldn't be able to suction (I would assume) for as long as the filler lasts. Hell, if you can't wait and money isn't a problem subcision alone while you wait for your next extended vacation (2+ weeks) would be better then nothing. Throwing in some microneedling wouldn't hurt either

You could also just do a few subcisions with suction, and see what permanent improvement you get first. Then you can decide later how much filler you need to do. This way, you end up not having to use as much filler, which is of course tempoarary. Unless of course you do permanent fillers, which is a whole different thing with it's own risks. The recovery from subcision is 1-2 weeks depending on how aggressive it is. If you are doing fat grafting, that has a longer downtime and a lot of swelling from what I've seen, so you might look "odd" for a while.

I mailed with surgeon 2, and he says subcision is not included, so I've booked for Monday with surgeon 1 Another surgeon rang me yesterday and told me the price would be around 350 (subcision + filler). The problem is that I guess from what we talked he does't have experience in subcision.

I'm also still considering doing just subcision+suction beacuse maybe the blood pocket under the scar helps with collagen production. What dou you think?

When you get your subcision make sure you tell him where the scars are or else you'll feel like you just wasted time and money. Robert brought his own marker to mark the scars. A lot of people here who had subcision done had their doctors completely miss a few of their more troublesome scars, me included. And its disappointing to find that out after the procedure

Thanks, what's the minimum size of a scar to do subcision? I heard it doesn't work on shallow ones.

Hi, I didn't find any dermatologist specialised in acne scars, I recommend you what i did: Go to the website of the Secpre and send an email to all plastic surgeons in your area (with pictures if possible). That way I found the only one who has experience with subcision an other one who can use stem cells. Which area are you from?

P.S. I had subcision with HA filler, I'll upload pictures.

I'm not really happy with the result after 1400 I spent.
