How To Treat Indentations Left From Tca Peel?

Hello!

I've been lurking here for a long time but just now decided to post and see if anybody could help me or has similar experiences. :)

I've had bad cystic acne that left me with depressed scars, icepick scars and one bad indentation. 4 months ago I started for the first time trying to treat my scarring. I ordered a dermaroller and used it according to the guidelines. This however left me with really tiny needle holes in my face that were visible and they never went away - I contacted customer support and they just said "that shouldn't happen". So I threw the roller in the trash and was really disappointed and, to be honest, quite scared that I had ruined my face. I immediately booked an appointment for a TCA peel thinking it would help my complexion.

So, 3 months ago I went and got a 25% TCA peel done on my face (it was performed by a doctor); they said I was the "ideal candidate" for this (isn't everybody, hah). My skin is usually oily but dry and sometimes flaky. It healed nicely, didn't get infected or anything, but the shedding took so long, over 16 days, that in the end I started showering excessively thinking it would help my skin peel a bit faster. Thinking back now this was a stupid thing to do, but everything seemed to be going so well so I didn't think it would damage my skin. I'm still not sure if this is actually to blame or not.

The peel actually did make some of the icepick scars go away. However, I now have shallow rolling scars on my left cheek and there definitely weren't any before this. My right cheek also looks gross, the texture changed so that now I have so many tiny indented line-shaped scars there that my skin looks bumpy and uneven. And, as a cherry on top of this all, I got a breakout so bad on my right cheek that now I have a couple of new indented scars there. And I can still see the needle-holes the dermaroller left me with. My scars look more like "lines" now which seriously makes my skin look several years older; before I had the dot-like scars, but at least my skin looked firm.

The rolling scars seem to disappear when I stretch the skin and the other scars have a bit of a tissue loss on the surface - this I know can't be fixed to look perfect, but honestly, "good enough skin" would be good enough for me right now. :(

If any of you know how I should proceed with this now, I would be so thankful for any tips! I'm still breaking out but with tiny little pimples that don't leave scars, but I've stopped using any Retin-A or Benzoyl Peroxide because they were making my skin look ever worse after the peel. I'm trying to keep my skin moisturized and I only wash it once a day usually. I've looked into subcision because I'm honestly scared to do any more peels and I won't touch lasers. However I started thinking that could the damage caused by TCA peel be also fixed with another peel? Or would it be extra stupid to try this?

I'm not experienced in this area...haven't tried half of what some people on here have tried. Hopefully someone can give you some ideas on what to do but I personally wouldn't try another TCA again. I'd be too scared to damage my skin more.

Is your skin very dry? I ask because I recently had a bad experience with the PMD mico machine and it basically tore up my skin. It was very dry and flaky in that area and I had a lot of little line scars. that totally freaked me out but now that the skin has healed and isn't super dry, the lines have disappeared. Maybe once your skin has completely healed, the lines will go away.

Good Luck and I truly hope you find something that helps.

Maybe it was left on too long or didn't get neutralized correctly?

I've done several SCA peels with no long-term negative effects.

I've had 6 chemical peels done too (professional peels at a dermatologists office) and never had problems except when I went out in the sun the day after my peel and got burned (and blistered). Maybe Organez is right...

I too have had terrible experiences with peels. My advice, find a good laser guy whos sympathetic. And do it sooner then later. I feel what helped most was treating the mishaps early. He zapped me w bbl acne, rosace, and profractional settings in multiple visitsand truly it has helped. Of course, only the newer scars. And not my indents from old acne scars. I am currently still battling this and i am going to win! I hope you find peace, and so all know, its not cheap. Ive spent money i dont have on this but ive learned the cheap way costs more in the end..

@hope2018Please see a doctor, none of us here can advise you on your condtion because of the complication you had. IT could be health related, application related, age related - aging does make the scars worse, also skin dryness, your healing capabilities, etc... Scars typically get worse before better by doing peels so perhaps you see scars that were just hidden before under some dead skin.

IF the scars are pits you can goto a doctor and get subcision possibly with filler depending on the depth of the pitting.

I am aware, just hoping to read some success stories. I am going to a professional in 2 days. Amid my depression I am excited because I have a glimmer of hope.
