I don't really understand the mechanics behind it. when peeling am I trying to make the surrounding tissue more in-line with the scars or stimulate some type of new growth on the scar area, or...
So, when I'm doing a chemical peel should I focus on or avoid scar areas?
Current routine:
1.5 Roller every month
1.0 Roller In between
30% SCA peel whenever I feel like it. (No more than once a week)
I also have a suction thing...just for luls...not even sure what I'm supposed to be doing with it. Or if it has been proven to do anything...
Thinking about adding an exfoliating spinny thing since I still get white heads in spite of what I see as a good diet/routine.
Scars are kind of like this guys. (Sorry random dude for using your pictures)
Chemical peels are not for real scars, which that guy has. They are however good for very light textural issues and PIH (wont do anything for red marks). As for dermarolling, I have yet to see any before and after pictures where someone has had actual results. You simply will not find someone who says they have had success with rolling that will post pictures because they don't exist, because it doesn't work. That being said there are things that do work for these types of scars, mainly lasers (worked great for me), subcision, and fillers. I also think tca cross is viable for icepicks.
Dermarolling works but not on all scars and it's not a fast fix. It takes a very long time to see reasonable results. I have been doing it for over 2 years and it got rid of a lot of the little ones. I have a line scar (2 scars that formed a line in my smile line) that it won't get rid of and one other scar (boxcar?). I have posted pics in my blog but I think it's against the rules to post blog name and address here. It's 4am here so if I have time this coming week, I'll look for the photos or I'll copy and paste from the blog. I had a ton of holes on both sides of my mouth and they filled in nicely. These were old scars (years old) so I know they did not fill in on their own. From what I understand, if a scar has not completely healed after a year, then it's permanent. Anyway, it worked for me but not 100%.
Oh and sorry to say but I don't think needling would help your type of scars.
