Burn From Nair Caused Skin Peeling?

two weeks ago I got burned by nair which caused the skin on my chin to peel off. I used a&d ointment on it for 1 week until the burn somehow turned rough and felt scaly. The area where the burn was started turning into scab-like formations and turned dark and stayed this way for 3 days. Until just two days ago the scab-like formations peeled away leaving my burn mark slightly lighter than what it was before and blending in better with my skin tone. My question is: will this go away? How will this heal? Will my skin ever be what is was before? And if so, how long will that take and what procedures must I follow? My burn area is darker than my skin tone so will it fade over time? Also, I don't know how but I got a scratch where the burn was and I am worried it won't close up and heal? I am very scared because I don't want this to be a permanent scar.

Although post inflammatory hyperpigmentation may stay for a while, it really depends on every person I believe. There are a lot of things you can do to help bring your skin back to its original state. I found that vitamin C ointments helps a lot and definitely staying out of the sun (or wearing high SPF sunscreen when you do go in the sun). Eventually, it will fade and even though it may take a up to a couple months, PIH is not permanent, don't worry!
