1 Treatment Of Repair Vs. 2 Treatments Of A Different Co2 Fractionated Laser?

Hi all!

Well after a looong hormonal journey, my acne has come back over the years (I am 31F). While I have been now treating it hormonally, with spironolactone and adding birth control pills soon, I have amassed a lot of new scars (many shallow boxcars, one very annoying rolling scar on the side of my mouth, a few icepicks). I am thinking of one more round of accutane and then will remain on the bcp and spiro afterward to hopefully prevent a relapse. And, after a year, fractionated Co2! Its the only thing thats giving me hope that I can improve and even out my skin texture again.

So my question is, there seems to be a huge difference in price between Fraxel Repair and other C02 lasers. I know that there seems to be lots of heated debate about lasers here so I don't want to incite anything, but I was wondering, if it was cheaper for me to afford two or several treatments of the Mixto laser over a period of time as opposed to one fraxel Repair, would that be more beneficial? While I don't have pics, I can say that I have very fair skin that with no deep scarring except for a few isolated ones, and most of it is shallow boxcars and scarred pores (mini icepicks) creating a very uneven texture..

Thanks!

Mixto is "different" than other fractional co2 lasers - it's not as aggresive. You also won't get the results you want with one laser treatment. None of the lasers are a "one and done" procedure - you need 3-4 treatments. Neither laser will help with scarred pores, they make them worse a lot of the time.

If the scars are mild and you're set on laser, you'd probably be better off getting a few treatments of mixto rather than 1 re:pair treatment.
