I'm a fifteen year old female, and I have Post Inflammatory Pigmentation all over my forehead. I also have it near my temples, and jawline. I no longer have acne, but I have hyperpigmentation which frustrates me. I have been thinking of purchasing a chemical peel from Amazon and applying it myself, but I'm not sure if I'm too young. It is taking a while for my hyperpigmentation to fade. I've had it since late October. Is a chemical peel good for curing my hyperpigmentation? if so, which type of peel? is it also possible to apply a chemical peel on the chest/back? Thanks for your help!

Sure. Start with 15% Salicylic acid and do a peel every 1-3 weeks. Try to use sunscreen religiously or as much as possible. Try to get used to it. Being exposed to the sun for long periods w/o sunscreen of time is known to not only worsen inflammatory hyper-pigmentation but prolong it's inflamed appearance.

If by hyperpigmentation you mean red marks then a peel isn't going to do anything. Generally speaking only people with dark skin get real hyperpigmentation from acne.

tca peels will help but you will need to have at least 2-3 layers done each time. i find ipl is the easiest because only the dark marks are zapped so the rest of the skin is left untouched and then there is really no downtime. also it gets down to the dermis. with peels you look all shiny for a few days to a week then you peel and that always seems to take forever since you have to let the skin fall off itself. there is also v-beam for dark marks too it all depends on what you want to do. go get a few consultations and see what works best for you and your lifestyle.
