hi all
i wonder if a newly built collagen on fresh scar (under 2 months) could collapse/distracted due to laser treatment (got my 1st laser treatment 4days after the scar scabbed off, it's not wounded but still slightly red)?
so here's my story... i just suffered adult chicken pox and got very unlucky with the pock mark scar. it's just next to my nose so it's right in the centre of my face and with every kind of lightning, it strucks directly on the scar
i got the chicken pox on Oct, it completely scabbed off on Nov, 4days after it scabbed off I went to a skin doctor who performed a non-ablative Candela V-beam laser on me directly on that day. So far I've got 4 laser treatments already and topical retinor 0.05cream to be applied nightly.
I read this forum and doctors normally advised to wait until 8weeks to perform any treatment. the thing is, though i could see improvements, i wonder of the side effect of having laser treatments so early on fresh scar as i see different texture after the treatment and with the emotional and psychological stress comes with the scar, it's difficult for me to assess the real/objective progress of it.
especially after i got my 3rd laser , the hole is getting narrower but the centre is still deep. but after my 4th laser w/ purpuric setting, i could see the whole scar arisen eventhough it's not levelling up yet with surrounding skin BUT the diameter of the hole seems to be larger than before the 4th laser (slightly smaller than the original scar).
i wonder if the scar does really arise and due to that, the diameter of the hole goes larger as the scar now forms a more flatten surface while before the centre was deeper than the outer ring of the scar creating a smaller hole look.
I attach my pics as well. I did not really document the whole progress just the initial, after the 3rd and 4th laser.
NOTE: 1st pic is my initial scar before laser, 2nd pic was after the 3rd laser, 3rd pic was just right after the 4th laser with purpuric setting, and the last pic is after the 4th laser with the bruising still around.
what'd you guys think? is there any chance that a pock mark scar as mine could heal 100%?
Only time will tell. Its looks very fresh and inflamed or raw..almost as if you messed with it a lot. If the pit bothers you inconsiderably I suggest you get a filler. Otherwise leave it alone.
Vbeam causes swelling that lasts a couple of days. Final results from Vbeam are usually seen 2-4 weeks after each treatment. Vbeam does form collagen but very little & it varies from person to person. My doctor claims it can help with very shallow new acne scars (beggining to pit). Yours is relatively new and has chance of improvement.
