Did A Tca Peel, A Few Questions

So i did a tca peel about 2 days ago. It was 30% TCA, and I had it done in my dermatologists office. It didn't frost after the first layer, and after the 2nd layer it didn't frost too. She decided to stop there because she was scared it could permanently damage my skin.

Anyways I haven't peeled at all so far, and my skin feels really tight and dry even after putting moisturizer. Its also pretty sensitive when i dry my face with a towel. Is this a sign that my skin is going to peel off soon? Also, my face isn't red at all, unlike the ones you see in google images when you search "tca peel" . Thanks.

I know what happened. There was no 'prepping' involved.

Why?

30% twice. Wow. Then again it's only been 2 days but by now your skin should feel and look leathery. Don't mess with it and just continue moisturizing!

But my skin doesn't look or feel leathery at all. It just feels like theres a layer of glue on top of it (kinda like when you put elmers glue on your hand and let it dry)

I didn't really start peeling until day 5, even though most people seem to peel most on day 3/4. I didn't even think I was going to peel and then bam! It started, and it peeled pretty solidly for a couple days. So just be patient. You might be surprised how much ends up peeling off. It doesn't peel off in huge chunks, it was mostly tiny pieces all over the place for me. My face was red for a day or two, but barely. Like a mild sunburn. My skin looked pretty normal for the first three days. I got good results for a first time, DIY peel.

That's my experience, if that helps. I don't think TCA peels leave you looking horrendous like you might assume. I assumed I'd look like a burn victim, but I did a much lower peel than you. That's something I hear from other people too though. They looked and felt pretty normal for the most part, and peeled in small pieces. I did, however, not moisturize on night 4. I skipped it, just once. I was starting to worry I would never peel and end up with a layer of nasty skin on top, so I let it dry for one night. Then I went right back to moisturizing the next day.

(I did a 15% TCA peel at home)

i had a 5 layer 10% tca peel done once at a medical spa and i peeled in 2 days and it was in big sheets which was nice because it was fast and easy. i had another tca peel done but only 2 layers and it took a week to peel and it was in small pieces. so damn annoying because it took forever for all the skin to come off and i didnt really see much of a difference.

Has the TCA helped you? It must make a difference if you keep doing them, right?

I had a couple of layers of 20% TCA at a spa and I never peeled. I also had my skin prepped with a previous long use of topical retinoids... You must have strong thick skin like mine.

Same thing happened around my jaw area after a 15% tca peel. What happened was the guaze pad left most of the solution on my cheek so by the time i got to my jaw it really didnt leave much of the solution on that surface of my skin so it didnt ''absorb'' much of the tca. After about 3 weeks my cheek area healed completely and then i noticed the back of my jaw was kind of flaking and the texture felt a bit off. This layer of skin didnt come off untill i started exfoilating it. This was from a 15% tca peel that was double layered though i would defenitly not try exfoilating a 30% tca peel especially one that was double layered untill 3-4 weeks to be safe from scarring. And if you plan to do a peel another time dont do the 30% its the highest concentration for a full face peel and also has a moderate chance of scarring if its not cared for properly post-peel. Do 20% then if your not satisfied with the results try 25% tops, better to do this than a 30% peel especially one that was double layered. You got realy lucky it didnt absorb, should never double layer a 30% would leave long lasting scars even if cared for properly after treatment.
